The Documenting Hate project ran from 2017 through 2019. This project is no longer active.

During the project, we received thousands of tips from witnesses and victims, as well as hundreds of responses to FOIA requests. There were too many stories for us to tell ourselves. That’s where you come in.

That’s why we worked with journalists at outlets around the U.S., giving access to access to story leads, reporting recipes, invitations to join community calls and more. You can see all the stories produced on the Documenting Hate site.
