AstraZeneca
AstraZeneca, based in London, agreed to pay $520 million in 2010 to resolve allegations that it illegally marketed the anti-psychotic Seroquel for uses not approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
AstraZeneca began reporting payments to physicians as of January 2010. For the first year, it only disclosed fees for speaking and speaker training. Beginning in January 2011, it expanded its reporting to include payments for consulting, meals, travel and educational items. The company began reporting research payments to institutions, hospitals and group practices in April 2011.
AstraZeneca's 2013 U.S. sales: $16.2 billion. Source: IMS Health.
