Fractyl Laboratories, Inc.
Equity Interest - Non-publicly traded entity ( e.g., stock, stock option, or other ownership interest)
Fractyl Laboratories, Inc. is developing a solution to address the underlying intestinal basis of insulin resistance and the metabolic diseases that are driven by insulin resistance. Dr. Kaplan is the Associate Director of the Nutrition Obesity Research Center at Harvard with responsibility over the administration and management of this grant. The grant supports a large base of investigators throughout the Harvard system who are engaged in research in the fields of nutrition and obesity, including mechanisms of insulin resistance. In this role, Dr. Kaplan serves as a member of the committee that selects which research projects will be funded under this grant. Because the research conducted under the grant and the company focus on obesity and related disorders, the results of the studies supported by the grant could be of interest to the company. The Partners Committee on Outside Activities review panel evaluated the financial interest in connection with this grant and determined that, based on the close connection between the company's interests and the research supported by the grant, the financial interest could directly and significantly affect Dr. Kaplan’s grant administration activities.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
