Public Health Relevance: Successful development and optimization of our ultrasound-based measurement techniques described in this application will provide quantitative and model-free, true-to-nature measurements of liver viscoelasticity and give physicians a valuable tool that can be widely employed for understanding disease activity, progression of disease and response to treatment of acute cellular rejection following liver transplant. These methods can also be applied to other tissues involved with inflammatory processes.
