Combating Resistance of Pancreatic Cancer with a First-in-Class Dual Targeted PI3K/EGFR Inhibitor
PROJECT NARRATIVE Public Health Impact: There is an urgent need to develop more effective therapies to improve the low survival rate for pancreatic cancer. MTX-211 represents a novel experimental agent that is the first reported selective inhibitor of EGFR and PI3 kinase, which are key signaling molecules implicated in the progression of pancreatic cancer. This project incorporates novel mouse models of pancreatic cancer to seek preclinical proof of concept for clinical development of MTX-211 for the treatment of this patient population.
