Syntherapy Clinic
Briefly describe dutites: I have previously disclosed and approved for an outside clinical activity. I own and operate a part-time clinic, named, Syntherapy Clinic, which is based in Houston with satellite locations in Beaumont and Nacogdoches. This clinic provides monthly injections of Synagis to high risk babies referred by other physicians during winter months only (October-February). It is managed by an office manager and shots are given by a nurse. My presence is not required, and my oversight occurs during off hours. There is also no conflict with my practice at UTMB since I am not involved with the outside entity during working hours, and the patients are referred from outside of the referral regions for Synagis injections given at UTMB. Effective December 1, 2018, I will be reducing my overall effort commitment to UTMB to 73%. Also, I do not plan to expand the clinic locations beyond the above previously declared locations.
The compensation from Syntherapy Clinic will drop to $ annually which will be within 25% salary cap from single source. I also do not plan to undertake expansion of my clinic beyond the current declared clinic locations in Houston, Beaumont and Nacogdoches. My current annual full-time UTMB salary is $200,000. Effective December 1, 2018, this will drop to $146,000 in order to reduce my commitment to UTMB to 73%. I also do not plan to undertake expansion of my clinic beyond the current declared clinic locations in Houston, Beaumont and Nacogdoches.
