Join Women for Obama on our new organizing platform

--

Some of us Women for Obama are organizing for this campaign in a new way -- and you should join us.

We now have a group on Dashboard, the campaign's new organizing platform.

Join the Women for Obama group on Dashboard now. If you're not already on Dashboard, you'll be asked to create an account.

Dashboard is built by organizers, for organizers -- and since it launched a couple of weeks ago it's been growing fast.

It's where you can find out how to step up and grow this organization right away -- by getting plugged in with other supporters, making calls to voters, joining or planning an event near you, discussing the latest election news, and more.

The Women for Obama group in Dashboard will be your place to step up and help drive this campaign, as women across the country get out in their neighborhoods to talk with others about what's at stake this fall and help them get ready to vote.

Through our organizing, we've already reached thousands of women from coast to coast. But it's a tight race, and we've got a lot more to do before we can let up.

Dashboard will help us organize smarter and harder, from now until the very last vote is cast.

So join Women for Obama on Dashboard -- and let's make sure that the women we know are fired up to support President Barack Obama:

President Obama. You'll be able to plan events, talk about the issues that

matter to you, and choose between lots of different ways to step up for

this election.

Urgent:

Romney and the Republicans announced yesterday that they brought in more than $X million in June.

For context, that's about what we raised in April and May combined.

We're still tallying our own numbers, but this means their gap is getting wider, and if it continues at this pace, it could cost us the election.

We need to reverse this trend -- and we need to start now. Will you make a donation of $X or more today?

[url]

One hundred million is alarming enough, but it doesn't even include the millions pouring into pro-Romney super PACs -- or the fact that, unlike four years ago, it's perfectly legal for the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson, Karl Rove, and anonymous billionaires to funnel unlimited money into attacking President Obama in critical battleground states.

I'm proud of the way we build this organization. Through the primaries, more than three-quarters of our donations were from people giving less than $X. Meanwhile, in that same period, Mitt Romney's campaign raised three-quarters of its money from people giving $X or more.

If we don't take this seriously now, we risk finding ourselves at a point where there is too much ground to make up.

We need to do something about it. Today.

Please donate $X or more:

We get hundreds of letters, emails, and phone calls from

supporters every day, and over the last couple months, one

awesome idea has come up more than a few times: the chance

to sit down for a conversation with Vice President Biden.

The Vice President is just as crazy about you as you guys

are about him. Every time he's out there shaking hands or

stopping by a local ice cream joint, you can barely drag

him away.

He's planning to spend some time with a couple grassroots

supporters over a cup of coffee sometime soon.

It could be you -- we'll fly you out, and you can bring

anyone you'd like. Chip in $X or whatever you can to be

automatically entered today:

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. It's a great idea

that's happening totally because of you.

Betting on America

President Obama is wrapping up a campaign bus tour through northern Ohio and

western Pennsylvania, where he's been talking to people about his commitment to

investing in American workers and creating jobs here at home. Yesterday, he

backed up his words with actions by standing up to China's unfair trade

practices, and showed his faith in American workers and industry yet again.

As we've continued to learn this week, Mitt Romney has bet against America as a

private citizen, as a businessman, and as an elected official. Check out this

week's tipsheet for details, and be sure to let others know about the stark

differences between President Obama's and Mitt Romney's records when it comes to

protecting American jobs.

#1 Standing tall against unfair trade practices

Yesterday, President Obama filed a case with the World Trade Organization

against China's unfair trade practices. China has imposed more than $3 billion

in unfair taxes on more than 80 percent of our auto exports to China, including

cars made in Ohio and Michigan. But while the President has stood up and

enforced trade laws against China, Mitt Romney attacked the President's 2009

effort to stand up to China on behalf of the American tire industry, calling it

"bad for the nation and our workers." Check out this blog post about the

President's record of holding China accountable for its trade practices, and

make sure people you know have the facts on the issue:

            #2 Map of Romney investments

A Vanity Fair article published this week revealed that Mitt Romney has heavily

invested in foreign tax havens, raising questions about whether he's ever

avoided paying U.S. taxes. We already knew that he had a Swiss bank account

until just last year, and that he still owns a mysterious corporation in

Bermuda. The article notes that Romney's finances are "deeply entangled" with

Bain Capital, including investment funds in the Cayman Islands. We don't know

all the details because he won't follow precedent by releasing his tax returns,

raising a lot of questions about his finances that Americans deserve to know the

answers to. Take a look at this map of Romney's known investments in offshore

tax havens, and make sure others see it, too:

#3 Do you have a Swiss bank account?

Do you have an offshore bank account? As far as I know, it's pretty unusual for

any American to have one -- especially someone who wants to be president of the

United States. But just to make sure we weren't missing anything, we asked some

people on the street whether they have an offshore bank account. Take a look at

the video, see what they had to say, and share it with your friends:

#4 What a president believes matters

The campaign released a new TV ad this week that highlights a key difference in

President Obama's and Mitt Romney's economic philosophies: The President

believes in an economy that expands manufacturing and brings jobs back to

America, while Mitt Romney's policies would encourage outsourcing, threatening

the security of the middle class. Watch the spot, and share it with your friends

and family:

Lastly, the Romney campaign and the Republicans announced this week

that they raised more than $100 million in the month of June. We're still

crunching our June numbers, but for context, that's about what we raised in

April and May combined. The President is counting on you, and he's betting that

the grassroots organization you're helping to build can overcome Romney's

unprecedented money machine. So thanks for stepping up -- now invite your

friends and family to join the Truth Team as well:

Stephanie
