A big problem right now

--

On July 7th, 2008, there was no Obama-Biden campaign -- Barack hadn't yet selected a VP.

We hadn't had one debate with John McCain, and most Americans had never heard Sarah Palin's name.

I want you to keep this in mind because we just passed the four-months-to-go marker in this election.

We should expect this one to change at any moment, too, and we have to be ready for some of those changes to not be in our favor -- like the fact that the Romney camp brought in $X million in June alone.

Please donate $X or more today and help close the gap.

In the next four months, we'll find out what getting outspent looks like. The crucial difference is that four years ago, the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, and anonymous billionaires weren't able to spend an unlimited amount of money attacking Barack in battleground states.

This is our reality now, but the only thing worse than a problem is a problem you do nothing about.

Tonight at midnight is the deadline to enter to join me for coffee and conversation out on the trail -- airfare, hotel, and the tab are all on us.

Hope we can sit down together soon:

Thanks,

Joe

Election Day will be here in less than four months. And we're facing a big problem right now that could directly affect the outcome that day.

The Romney campaign and the Republicans raised $X million in the month of June alone. That is a massive sum.

Just wait until they start spending all that money in full force in key states we need to win.

Folks, here is the simple reality: Building this campaign today is more important than it was a few days ago. We can still win even while getting outraised by these guys. But we've got to keep it close.

That means none of us -- not one -- can wait to make a difference right now, with whatever we can afford to chip in:

A little incentive: A donation before midnight tonight will also automatically enter you for the chance to sit down with me for a cup of coffee sometime soon. We'll fly you out, and you can bring a guest.

And really -- thanks, for whatever you're able to give today.

Worse than we thought

Friend --

Mitt Romney and the Republican Party raised more than $X million last month.

Yeah, that's a hell of a lot of money.

We can't match that amount, but we have to close this gap as much as we can. If we don't start right now, we risk falling irreversibly behind.

Will you make a donation of $X or more today to help close the gap?

We're building our campaign the right way, small donors chipping in what they can when they can. Mitt Romney has done the opposite: During the primary, his campaign raised more than three-quarters of its money from people giving $X or more.

But it means the gap between what we raised and what they raised is growing.

Look, we already knew we were going to be outraised and outspent by the outside groups and super PACs.

But $X million to the Romney operation alone? It's a steeper climb than anyone thought.

We've got to do something about it. And right now the only one in a position to do anything about it is you:

The Advocate endorsement

Obama - --

For the first time in decades, the Advocate has endorsed a presidential

candidate: Barack Obama.

Advocate endorsement

In a historic and moving endorsement, the author begins, "Never has the

substantial progress in equal rights and treatment of LGBT people been

more at risk than in this presidential contest. This election presents a

choice between starkly opposing futures."

Read the story today, and pass it along to anyone you know who cares

about the LGBT community.

The Advocate reaffirms the stakes in this election: President Obama has

been a transformative figure for LGBT Americans, from his support of

marriage equality to the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," while Mitt

Romney would only drag us backwards with a promise to enshrine

discrimination in the Constitution.

With less than four months left until Election Day, it's time to step up

and fight for the only candidate who will fight for us.

Join Obama Pride today and find out how you can get involved:
