Volunteer road trip this Saturday
|
--
If you're looking for a great way to spend a Saturday, you should join one of this weekend's volunteer trips to Pennsylvania or Virginia.
Our counterparts there have been putting in a lot of hours to get ready for this fall, when they're going to play a key role in this election. They're living in a flurry of voter registration forms, door knocks, and walk lists -- and there's a lot more to do in the few months we've got left.
We've been traveling there to pitch in a few hours when we can -- and we'll do it again this weekend. We'll reach out in our neighbor states to talk to voters about President Obama's accomplishments and encourage them to vote for the President and Democrats up and down the ticket.
Can you join us? Here's how to meet up:
What: Volunteer road trip
Meet at: 51 University Blvd East
Silver Spring, MD 20901
When: Saturday, July 14th
9:00 am
The pressure's on in Pennsylvania and Virginia -- a few thousand votes in those states could be what decides this election.
These trips are incredibly fun, and really important. While we get to know their cities and towns, take in a little of the nice weather, and hang out with other committed volunteers from Maryland, we're also putting some of our own organizing power to work where we know it'll make the biggest difference.
So make a weekend plan right now -- sign up to join the canvass trip with other folks from the Silver Spring area:

Roger — If Republicans take over the White House and Senate, yesterday's health care repeal vote by House Republicans won't be a farce.
They'll be unstoppable. They'll tear apart Obamacare and every piece of President Obama's agenda.
Mitt Romney just outraised President Obama for the second straight month, and progressive Senate candidates are being outspent 3-to-1. If we don't act today -- not tomorrow -- we let them win in November. Can you pitch in $5?

Again? Really?

This is just getting absurd.
Instead of acting on President Obama's commonsense initiatives to create jobs and strengthen the economy, yesterday House Republicans voted to repeal Obamacare. For the 33rd time.
Time and again, Republicans in Congress are wasting time and taxpayer money by taking pointless votes instead of working to actually help people.
There's one surefire way to guarantee this doesn't continue past November -- by doing everything we can to ensure that President Obama and Democrats win on Election Day.
If you're tired of the gridlock and Republican grandstanding, donate $X or more today.
President Obama has shown he can get things done, but he needs Democrats at all levels to help him, too.
Let's re-elect President Obama and take back the House, so we can finally focus on what really matters: putting people back to work.
Donate $X or whatever you can today to help Democrats win in November and keep Republicans from derailing yet another legislative session:

Democrats --
This is just getting absurd.
Instead of acting on President Obama's commonsense initiatives to create jobs and strengthen the economy, yesterday House Republicans voted to repeal Obamacare. For the 33rd time.
The worst part of all of this? The fact that Republicans are repeatedly trying to repeal a law that will literally save lives.
There's one surefire way to guarantee this doesn't continue past November: by doing everything we can to ensure that President Obama and Democrats win on Election Day.
Don't give Republicans the chance to continue trying to repeal Obamacare after November. Donate $X or more today. [url]
Let's talk about what is really at stake for millions of Americans if Republicans are victorious in November and they gain enough support in Congress -- or even in the White House -- to actually repeal this law:
Children with pre-existing conditions would once again be denied coverage, some women would lose access to critical preventive care, and millions of seniors would lose the benefits that help pay for life-saving medication.
These advancements are just too important for us to stand by and give Republicans more chances to repeal Obamacare after Election Day.
So fight back now to ensure Democrats can win in November -- don't give Republicans another shot. Donate $X or more today:

If we don't close the gap right now...
|
--
We've got a problem.
This week, we learned that Mitt Romney and the Republican Party outraised us for the second month in a row. This time, it was by more than $X million.
Now, we don't need to win the fundraising race to beat Mitt Romney. But the gap is growing at an alarming rate, and if we don't start closing that gap right now, it will be too late.
It's up to you.
President Obama and Democrats across the country are counting on our grassroots operation. Please donate $X or more today.
In 2008, we showed that elections can be waged, and won, based on the idea that many voices could overpower those of a few.
And it worked.
This year, we need to prove it in the face of unprecedented spending from super PACs and outside groups. We need to show that ordinary people can still control the outcome of an election.
I hope you're ready to fight -- one supporter, one dollar at a time.
Let's show what we're made of. Pitch in whatever you can to help close the fundraising gap today:
