J --

We got some alarming news: The latest FEC report shows that Mitt Romney and the Republicans have $X million more to spend than we do.

The only thing that could make this worse is if we don't do anything about it.

If we're going to pull out a win, we need to act immediately to close this fundraising gap. Make a donation of $X or more now.

This is a problematic fundraising gap with just 10 days to go -- and if it worries you, it should.

It translates into an onslaught of misleading attack ads targeting President Obama and other Democrats in tight races across the country.

With more resources, we can fight back on the ground and on the air.

But that's up to you. I'm proud of how we've pulled together and kept pace with the other side -- we can't let it all be taken away in the last few days of this election. There is too much on the line.

Help close this fundraising gap today and put President Obama and Democrats in a position to win:

Keep fighting -- we can do this.

We've got a better ground game than Romney and the Republicans. We're getting more voters to the polls in states where they can vote early, and we're ramping up for a massive get-out-the-vote operation on November 6th.

But with more resources, there's always more we can do -- buy more clipboards, rent more vans to drive voters to the polls, or hire more organizers to knock on as many doors as possible to combat all of the negative advertising the Republicans will be rolling out over the next few days.

Look -- Barack and I need you.

We recently found out that, as we head into the final push, Mitt Romney and the Republicans have $X million more in the bank than we do.

That's a problem, folks. In a race that's as close as they come -- and with Election Day almost here -- we're not willing to lose this in the end.

The good news is we've got you. And if you chip in today, we can close that gap more quickly than you think.

Please help us out with a donation of $X or more today:

The Democratic Party -----------------------

Sometimes politics can seem very small.

But the choice voters face in this election couldn't be bigger.

Over the past two months, we have been outraised by our opponents. They've used that advantage to distort the truth and mislead people, over and over, on TV and the radio in battleground states.

Tonight is one of the most critical fundraising deadlines we'll face.

If we win this election, it will be because of what you did in moments like this to close the gap.

Please make a donation of $X or more right now:

I'm here to tell you, really quickly, about why tonight's fundraising deadline matters.

The past couple of months, our president has been vastly outraised by Republicans. Democrats in races across the country are up against the same thing, with outside groups pouring millions in to drag us down.

If we don't stop this trend, and start closing the gap, 2012 could go down as the year that powerful special interests learned that elections can have a price tag.

I'm not willing to accept that -- and I hope you aren't either.

I promise this will be the last email you get from me for a while.

Will you help close that fundraising gap?

Democrats

In 2010, my home state of Florida elected right-wing Republican Rick Scott as our governor after he outspent his Democratic opponent by $X million -- a staggering figure for a state election.

Governor Scott has gone on to slash education funding, make it more difficult for women to control their own health decisions, and tell millions of Floridians that they're out of luck if they need quality health care coverage. It's why only 31 percent of my fellow Floridians approve of the job he's doing.

Right now, President Obama and Democrats are being outraised by Mitt Romney and the Republicans. And we're going to be outspent. Take it from me, and millions of other Floridians who have learned this the hard way -- a bad Republican candidate can overwhelm a good Democratic candidate if they have enough of a fundraising advantage. And the real-life consequences are disastrous.

Donate $X or whatever you can before our critical fundraising deadline tonight, and help make sure that doesn't happen nationally:

Days like today are part of what makes this job so nerve-wracking. How much we raise before the deadline at midnight tonight determines whether Democrats across the board will get the resources they need to win in November.

When we get the final total for how much we raised this month, we'll have some tough decisions to make -- and those decisions will be even tougher if we come up short.

I know that these emails I send might seem like a little much -- but they're important. The money we raise helps pay for our top-notch grassroots organization across the country to lay the groundwork to win in November.

We need your help to ensure that we can continue to operate at the level we know it takes to win.

Tonight's deadline will be the most critical so far. It's all going to come down to these last few months, and the budget decisions we make in August could make or break campaigns across the map.

Can you chip in $X or more before midnight?

I'm gnawing through my pen caps over here. Watching the numbers come in is not exactly a stress-free task, and that's because of what's on the line.

It's not just who will be in the White House for the next four years or whether we'll keep a Democratic majority in the Senate. It's what our country will look like for years to come: if our kids will have access to quality health care, education, and the careers they dream of, or if they'll grow up in a country whose leaders shrug and say "you're on your own."

It's in your hands. And I want to give those Democrats and the President the resources they need to get this done. Please give before the crucial midnight deadline:

Democrats

It's deadline day. We're down to the last few hours before we tally up our numbers -- and make some tough calls about what Democrats can do in August. This could be our most important deadline yet.If you can, please support Democrats across the country with an urgent donation of $X or more before midnight tonight.

We're getting drastically outspent in this election, and people keep asking me how we can step it up. But the reality is, we're playing a different game -- relying on people chipping in a little bit whenever they can -- and we need to do more with less. It's my job to pinch the pennies and make sure we're putting our resources where they'll do the most. That's a tight budget. And that's why I'm emailing you. I don't think anyone makes a donation just because they're happy to hear from me again over email.

Everyone who supports Democrats is stepping up for a reason. Maybe it's because you believe in winning elections the right way, building something one person at a time, and working together toward a better future. Or because you don't want to see so much hard-fought progress erased, or a return to policies of the past that sent the country into a ditch, or maybe you're just fired up to re-elect this President and win a Democratic majority in both houses of Congress.Think about your reason for supporting Democrats, and please give $X or more today:[url]

I couldn't be prouder of what we've done together. Let's make sure we don't slip in the last few months.

I know that your inbox can start to be pretty cluttered when a big

fundraising deadline like tonight's is coming up.

But as a former chair of the Democratic Party, I can also tell you how

truly important these deadlines are.

Critics, pundits, and our opponents will judge our strength in this

election year by how much money we raise by the deadline at midnight

tonight.

Even more importantly, we'll be counting every last dollar to see if we

have enough to carry out our plans on the ground across the country. It all

comes down to whether we have the money to win.

Donate $X or whatever you can today to ensure that we have the resources

we need to win in

November.

If you've been paying attention to the news, you may have heard some

critics saying that Democrats just aren't fired up this year or that

Republicans have more momentum going into this FEC deadline.

But you and I know that's simply not the case. Democrats are ready to fight

-- we couldn't be more excited to ensure that our President is re-elected

and that Democrats across the country are able to keep fighting for

progress.

Let's not give those critics a chance to say "I told you so." We need you

to help us blow through expectations and show everyone just how motivated

Democrats are.

The deadline's tonight.

Over the last decade, the Democratic Party has gotten stronger. We've grown

beyond anyone's expectations -- and we've seen the results, from record

Democratic turnout to putting new states into play every year.

It never would have happened without people like you -- and your support is

what keeps it going. We have a big FEC deadline tonight at midnight.

Donate $X today to build our organization in this critical election

year.

You and I know the other side's strategy -- more politics as usual as they

pour money into ads and attacks in a few states. Our strategy is different.

It's about building from the ground up, organizing neighbor to neighbor,

and having a presence everywhere in the country. It means building our

grassroots organization year-round -- not just for a few weeks every four

years.

And it means anyone who wants to get involved -- whether they live in a

swing state or a surefire lock -- has a role to play. We want more people

to stand up and get involved in the political process. What could be more

Democratic than that?

It's not the easiest or quickest way to win a single election -- it's how

you win the future, and move our country forward.

A national strategy like ours relies on supporters pitching in to build

this movement.

So before our critical FEC deadline, donate $X or whatever you can to

Democrats in all 50 states:

I like sending you emails on Saturdays about as much as you probably like

receiving them.

But I'm doing it because the stakes this year are so incredibly high. Your

help could be part of what makes or breaks races for Democrats across the

country. No joke. That's the difference your support can make.

So let's make a deal:

You pitch in $X or really whatever you can, before our critical FEC

Tonight's the deadline for the other side too, you know.

That's why Republicans are pushing hard on their wealthy corporate donors

and super PACs to bolster their own early money, and it's why this deadline

is so critical.

President Obama will most likely be the first president in modern history to

be outraised in his re-election campaign. The same can be said of Democrats

in races across America, and everyone knows it.

Republicans have the edge in spending and they won't let up.

We can take them, with Democratic campaigns that are run smarter than theirs

-- I know we can do it. But it has to start with supporters like you.

As a former Chair of the DNC, I've seen Republicans do a lot of things for

political gain.

But it still shocks me that Mitt Romney and the Republicans are, yet again,

playing politics with the lives of millions of Americans.

After the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare -- and ensured that children can't

be denied insurance coverage because of preexisting conditions and that

women will have access to critical preventive care they need -- Romney said

that, if he is elected in November, he will repeal this historic

legislation on Day One.

We can't let that happen. Donate $X or more today to make sure Democrats

have the resources they need over the next 128

days.

Passing health care reform is a mission we started long ago. We promised

the American people that every person would have access to affordable

health care, and we delivered. But the fight is far from over.

There is only one way to protect health care reform from Mitt Romney and

the Republicans -- by doing everything we can to re-elect President Obama

and Democrats at every level who will fight to protect health care for

every American.

After the critical fundraising deadline tonight at midnight, we'll be

making decisions about where to send our resources, and what kind of

campaigns we'll be running for the next four months.

That's why it's so important we blow through expectations and show Mitt

Romney and the Republicans that Democrats are willing to fight to continue

to deliver on our promise to the American people -- that we're fired up.

Donate $X or more today to help Democrats win in November:

The Democratic Party -----------------------

In planning the 2012 Democratic National Convention, we set out to find ways to include more Americans, and to be creative about it.

We've done a lot to follow through on that, and it's all pretty exciting, but here's one thing you should definitely know about: A grassroots supporter and their guest will have VIP access for all three days, meet with President Obama, and witness history up front with the First Lady when the President delivers his acceptance speech.

You can't buy these tickets -- no one gets to do all this stuff. No one but you and your guest, anyway.

Chip in $X or whatever you can today and you'll be automatically entered to attend the Democratic convention as a VIP guest of the First Family:

[url]

If you've never been to a convention, you're in for a treat -- you'll get to meet amazing people, hear inspiring speeches, and experience the awesome energy of the convention hall. Getting to meet with the President and First Lady isn't half bad, either.

So chip in $X or whatever you can and be automatically entered for a chance to join us in Charlotte next month:

Democrats --

For decades, national political conventions have been closed-door, exclusive events for rich donors and party insiders. But for Democrats, that's not how we do it.

Charlotte is going to be the most inclusive, representative convention in modern history. We're increasing the number of delegates, opening up the whole event to any American who wants to be a part of it. We're funding it without cash from lobbyists, political action committees, or corporations.

Just as we're building our organization across the country, we're counting on Americans like you to help build a convention experience that represents all of us.

That's how we'll win this fall. You can help Democrats across the country by chipping in $X or whatever you can today.

And when you do, you'll be automatically entered for a chance to attend the convention with VIP access -- top-notch seats for every night, an opportunity to meet with the President and the First Lady, and free airfare and accommodations.

And on the night of President Obama's big speech, you'll be sitting with the First Lady, right up front.

Help build this organization today, and be automatically entered for a chance to join us in Charlotte next month:

I'm really excited about this year's Democratic convention in Charlotte -- there's nothing I love more than feeling the energy when tens of thousands of fired up Democrats meet in one place.

We can expect some pretty big moments this year -- from Elizabeth Warren's and President Bill Clinton's speeches to watching Vice President Biden and President Obama bring it all home.

But I think that, without question, the coolest experience anyone will have at the convention will be sitting up front with First Lady Michelle Obama when the President accepts the nomination -- and one lucky DNC supporter and their guest! will get that opportunity.

All you have to do is donate $X or whatever you can today to be automatically entered for the chance to win this incredible opportunity.

We've got your airfare and hotel covered. You'll get two VIP passes for three days at the convention. And you'll meet President Obama before he takes the stage.

After the convention, we'll be in a full sprint to Election Day, so the resources we raise between now and then will determine how much we can spend to help Democrats win in November.

Election Day is closer than you think.

Pitch in $X or whatever you can today to give Democrats the resources we need in the final months of the campaign, and you'll be automatically entered to win this once-in-a-lifetime trip to Charlotte:

It's not hyperbole to suggest that this is the starkest choice for president that this country has had in my lifetime.

Barack and I have a fundamentally different vision and profoundly different values than our opponents do on everything from Medicare to how to balance the federal budget to a woman's right to make her own health care decisions.

That's why it's absolutely critical that we have the resources we need over these final weeks to win tight races across the country.

Chip in $X or more today -- before our big quarterly fundraising deadline.

If you think your donation doesn't matter, just look at what congressional Republicans have done over the past four years. They've dug in their heels to oppose the President and his agenda every chance they've gotten -- and a lot of their disagreements aren't based on the facts or their principles or what the American people need. They're just trying to shut him down.

I think if President Obama said he liked mustard on his hot dogs, you'd hear a lot of the other guys start talking about how pro-ketchup they are.

That's not leadership, and it's why this election -- and what you do today -- is so important. Make a donation of $X or more now:

Want to know what really frightens me?

It frightens me that Mitt Romney is the leader of the Republican Party -- and there are hundreds of Republican candidates across the country who think just like him. And they could win on November 6th. If they do, boy, is our country in trouble.

Just look at what Republicans in the House have tried to do in this last legislative session alone: They voted to defund Planned Parenthood and voted 33 times to repeal Obamacare -- yet never voted once for the President's jobs bill to help put Americans back to work. It is never acceptable -- never -- to put politics before people.

Our most important fundraising deadline yet is on Sunday -- and we have just a little over a month left to do everything we can to make sure that President Obama and Democrats across the country win on Election Day.

Seriously -- I hope you feel the urgency I do. We can't let these Republicans control the White House and Congress for the next four years.

Donate $X or more today to give Democrats the resources they need:

Description: [url] /open.gif

Democrats --

Todd Akin -- the man who offended just about everyone when he made the dead wrong claim that there is a medical difference between "legitimate rape" and other instances of rape -- was just officially locked in as the GOP opponent for Claire McCaskill's Missouri Senate seat.

Today, here's what he had to say about the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from Missouri, after he observed that she seemed "aggressive" in Friday's debate:

" In her 2006 campaign, McCaskill had a confidence and was very much more sort of ladylike ."

If you've heard enough, chip in $X to stop him. The critical September fundraising deadline is when Democrats will decide if we have the resources to really take on candidates like this one -- so it's up to you, right now.

Mr. Akin thinks Missouri's Senator, who serves on the Senate Committee on Armed Services, Committee on Commerce, Committee on Science and Transportation, Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and Special Committee on Aging, is not "ladylike" because she wasn't sweet to him in their debate.

"She came out swinging," Akin said, "and I think that's because she was threatened."

You're in a position to stop this man from holding office in our nation's Senate and to stop him from authoring our laws. You're in a position to stand with Senator McCaskill as she enters the fight of her life. The September FEC fundraising deadline is in just a few days, and that's when we're going to have to make calls about how hard Democrats can fight against extreme GOP candidates like this.

Donate $X or more to help Democrats shut this guy down and take on the cynical, win-at-any-cost backers funding him:

[url]

Todd Akin's crossed the line again and again, and we're the ones who are going to tell him that he can't take his ignorance, his fanaticism, and anything else he has to say about what's ladylike and what's not to our Senate floor.

Thanks for everything you do,

The Democratic Party -----------------------

The GOP has just pulled a particularly craven 180.

First, they condemned Rep. Todd Akin for his incredibly offensive comments toward women and tried to force him from the Senate race in Missouri.

That failed, so now they're backing him again.

What happened to the moral outrage following Rep. Akin's comments on "legitimate rape"? Clearly, it was nothing more than pandering.

In fact, Akin's radical view on abortion is even codified in the Republican Party platform: ban it even in cases of rape or incest.

This is a pretty clear example of the kind of politics and candidates we're up against. The stakes are high. Donate $X or more today to help Democrats and defeat Republicans like Todd Akin:

There is a critical fundraising deadline coming up on Sunday -- and we know that, like us, the other side will be making decisions for the final month of this election based on how much they raise in the next few days.

It's up to each one of us to do everything we can to stop Republicans across the country like Todd Akin from winning on Election Day.

We know that the policies that come from Republican establishment-backed candidates -- even ones who haven't said stupid, offensive things -- would be disastrous for women.

Fight back before our major fundraising deadline by chipping in $X or more today:

Last night, Mitt Romney demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt to American women that he is not with us.

He does not share our dreams, or understand our experience. When asked about workplace equality, he only offered a revealing anecdote about "binders full of women."

Compare that to our president's response: "These are not just women's issues. These are family issues, these are economic issues, and one of the things that makes us grow as an economy is when everybody participates and women are getting the same fair deal as men are."

That's the vision and leadership we need for our kids, our mothers, our sisters -- all Americans. But we need to fight for it.

Tonight is the biggest and last FEC fundraising deadline President Obama and Democrats will face in this election. None of us can sit on the sidelines: Please make a donation of $X or more right now.

Plain and simple, Governor Romney just doesn't get it.

He has done nothing to support women except for those "binders" and we can expect the same if he becomes president -- and that is deeply offensive to me. I'm sure it's deeply offensive to you, too.

As a young mother, a working woman, and someone who cares about a level playing field, I am ready to do everything I can to defeat the Romney-Ryan ticket.

Tonight's the big deadline, and we're the only ones who can take charge of our future. Donate $X or more before our very last FEC fundraising deadline of this election at midnight tonight:

Democrats

The last FEC deadline of this election is at midnight tonight.

I actually can't overstate how important this deadline is -- how much we raise before midnight will determine whether we have the resources to get out every vote we need to win on Election Day.

In case you need a reminder of what's at stake: Mitt Romney and the Republicans will end federal funding of Planned Parenthood, get rid of Obamacare, turn Medicare into a voucher program, raise taxes on the middle class in order to cut them for millionaires and billionaires, and let Wall Street go back to writing its own rules.

It's go time. There are only 20 days left for us to do everything we can to win this thing. I'm going to leave it all out on the field -- and I hope you will, too.

Donate $X or more ahead of our midnight deadline to give Democrats the resources we need to win:

The Democratic Party -----------------------

It's game time.

There are 67 days until the election, and we're facing a critical fundraising deadline at midnight tonight.

This is a make-or-break moment for Democrats. How much we raise before this deadline will determine the strength of our operation heading into the final days of this race. We'll know how much money we can send to campaigns and field offices across the country to help Barack Obama and other Democrats win.

I don't have to tell you what's at stake in November -- especially after this week's Republican convention, where speaker after speaker talked about repealing health care reform that will save millions of lives, giving tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires, and taking away a woman's right to make her own health choices.

I'm going to guess your inbox is pretty full today. But think of it this way: This is one of the last fundraising deadlines before Election Day.

With just 10 weeks left to go, we have limited time to make a difference for Democrats nationwide.

If their races were already in the bag, if they already had all the resources they need, and if we didn't have that much on the line this year, I wouldn't ask you to make a donation today.

But the stakes are high, President Obama and many Democrats across the country are in razor-close races, and these candidates need our help before they head into the final months.

So if you can, please make a donation to Democrats before tonight's critical fundraising deadline:

Tomorrow morning, may you wake up to an uncluttered inbox -- and may Democrats in races across the country wake up to see that they're exactly where they need to be.

I'm about to go speak to the crowd here in Chicago, but I wanted to thank you first.

I want you to know that this wasn't fate, and it wasn't an accident. You made this happen.

You organized yourselves block by block. You took ownership of this campaign five and ten dollars at a time. And when it wasn't easy, you pressed forward.

I will spend the rest of my presidency honoring your support, and doing what I can to finish what we started.

But I want you to take real pride, as I do, in how we got the chance in the first place.

Today is the clearest proof yet that, against the odds, ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.

There's a lot more work to do.

But for right now: Thank you.

Democrats

Karl Rove is making a multimillion-dollar bet.

His groups, American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, think if they put enough money into misleading TV ads trashing President Obama, voters won't be able to see straight.

That's not all. They're also betting on $X million as the magic number for taking control of the Senate. And they're pumping attack ads into House districts that could swing our way or theirs. Last month alone they spent millions of dollars attacking Governor Tim Kaine's Senate race in Virginia, along with other Democrats everywhere from New Mexico to Nebraska.

They're hoping we won't fight back. Too bad for them. We are. And we're doing it the right way: on the ground, with supporters telling their friends and neighbors the truth.

We're making a big bet -- on you.

Get behind Democrats with a donation today.

For Democrats to keep making progress, it's critical that we re-elect President Obama.

And it's equally important to make sure we have a Congress that's no longer gridlocked by House Republicans.

We know what the last two years have been like in Congress. We can't sit on the sidelines and let that happen again.

Every time Karl Rove, the Koch Brothers, and other outside groups throw $X million into a Senate race in Missouri, or $X million into a House race in Illinois, they're hoping we'll just fold.

That's not how it's going to go down.

There are 102 days to go, and there couldn't be more on the line. Get in the fight today:

Mitt Romney and the Republicans believe their big donors and outside groups can fund enough misleading TV ads to turn the election in their favor. Their campaigns aren't based on a plan to create jobs or improve people's lives. Their plan is to buy the White House with a mind-boggling amount of money. Seriously.

Democrats do things differently. We're counting on millions of Americans to go to bat for the candidates who are fighting for working families. The way we're going to elect the President and Democrats across the board is by volunteering, chipping in what we can, and talking to voters one on one.

Is it a bit of a risky proposition? Sure.

But it's a risk we're ready to take because we believe everyday Americans -- not special interests -- should decide elections. And because people like you will step up, showing we can go toe to toe with any super PAC or wealthy individual.

We're staring down the most urgent fundraising deadline yet. Donate $X today to prove that we not only have the better strategy, we have a winning strategy:

On Thursday, Vice President Joe Biden will debate Rep. Paul Ryan -- the man responsible for a budget that would turn Medicare into a voucher program, cut Medicaid, and raise taxes on the middle class while giving $X trillion in tax cuts skewed to millionaires and billionaires.

We'll see a clear choice up on that stage. President Obama, Vice President Biden, and Democratic candidates across the country are fighting to give everyone the health care they need, strengthen the middle class, and create jobs.

Exactly four weeks from today, we'll know which way this country will go -- forward or back.

I won't lie to you: We've got quite a fight ahead of us in the next 28 days. Every donation counts.

Everything we've been building for is here. Our field teams are firing on all cylinders and our volunteers are turning out in force. People are already voting in some states. Critical races are coming down to the wire. And it's all over in four weeks. In other words, we need to work our hearts out. But sometimes I have to make tough budget decisions just because we don't have the resources to say "yes." Every single dollar right now is critical -- your support means we can do more, and those decisions are being made right now. Please donate $X or more today so we can finish this strong:

[url] We just opened our 100th office in both Ohio and Florida, and they're already running at peak capacity. Last week, volunteers and organizers registered 10,000 voters in Florida -- in a single day. It's the worst feeling to have to tell such amazing, hardworking people, "Sorry, that's a good plan, but we just can't afford it." These decisions are in your hands. These last four weeks, we need to hire those extra organizers and print those additional signs. Chip in $X or more today, and you'll go a long way to making that possible:

At the debate, Mitt Romney looked the American public in the eye and said: "I do have a plan that deals with people with pre-existing conditions. That's part of my health care plan."

His campaign quietly admitted afterwards that, no, it is not, in fact, a part of his health care plan.

As a breast cancer survivor and someone living with a pre-existing condition, this statement was more personally offensive than any of his repeated promises to repeal Obamacare. This kind of say-anything dishonesty is typical from Mitt Romney and the Republicans.

You can do something. Please give $X or more today to help Democrats set the record straight about Romney and his allies. Voters need to know.

When the other side makes empty, dishonest promises like this one, it's not only the worst kind of politics, it's toying with real people's lives.

As a cancer survivor, I know just how much we used to be at the mercy of insurance providers. Obamacare protects us from unfair practices like lifetime caps on your coverage, denial of coverage because of pre-existing conditions, and being dropped from your policy exactly when you need it most. Mitt Romney will take that all away but when he's asked point-blank about it, he won't admit it.

We deserve better. But we need to work harder than ever for it.

Time to suit up and fight back. Please donate $X or more today let's stand together and keep Mitt Romney and Republicans in Congress away from our health care:
