Are you awake?

There's an important detail about tonight's deadline that you should know.

It happens at midnight wherever you live. So even if you make a donation from the West Coast before midnight, it still counts in our July totals.

I'll be awake for a while. But I'm OK with that. At the end of the day, I get to crunch the numbers, and see just how many folks like you have joined our cause.

The difference between a good deadline performance and a great deadline performance could decide something as important as whether we hire 20 new organizers next week in Virginia.

That's why we've been emailing, and it's why I hope you'll chip in with $X one more time before midnight your time:

If so, I have a quick favor to ask.

Can you make a donation before we hit the midnight deadline? I'll be grateful for it.

Hey, even if you don't get this before midnight, you can still chip in to help build this campaign and I'll still be grateful.

Make calls for the President today

Hey Illya,

Young people were central to electing President Barack Obama in 2008, and we're ready to do it all over again this year.

Here's a great way to do your part: Join a phone bank using our online call tool today.

Just log in, and we'll provide you with all the details you need to get your point across -- like some info about the person you're calling and notes on what to say.

Join other Obama supporters in making calls to young Americans, and share why getting involved in this election is so important:

[url]

I'm out there every day talking to students and young professionals about why we can't sit this one out, and your enthusiasm is contagious.

We've got to channel that energy into bringing more people onboard. We've already accomplished a lot together -- from ending "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" to helping more young people get the health care coverage they need -- but there's a lot more to do.

That's why we're not just asking young people to register to vote and cast their ballots for Barack Obama. We're asking every person with a stake on November 6th to get out into their communities and get their friends and neighbors out to the polls, too.

So, are you ready to get on the phone? Log in to our online call tool, and get down to business:

[url]

Thanks -- and stay tuned for more ways to pitch in online, on campus, or in your neighborhood.

Good news and bad news

Just in case you needed one more concrete example of how President Obama is making progress for women's health:

Starting today, health insurance plans will begin to cover contraception as part of women's preventive care -- with no copay or deductible.

Women will see this benefit the first time their insurance plan renews -- marking a huge step forward for the more than 50 percent of women between 18 and 34 years old who say they've struggled to afford birth control, and for the millions of women who already have access to free mammograms, cancer screenings, vaccinations, and other lifesaving preventive services.

That's something everyone should feel pretty good about, right?

Reality check: Not everyone does.

While the President is fighting to make sure more women can afford the health care they need -- and make their own health choices -- Governor Romney and his allies across the country are working tirelessly to roll back every step of the progress we've made.

You've got to see this to believe it:

[url]

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett -- whose support Mitt Romney said he was "extraordinarily proud to earn" -- thinks women should just "close their eyes" during medically unnecessary ultrasounds.

In Indiana, Governor Mitch Daniels signed a bill in an attempt to defund Planned Parenthood in his state, a move that would cut off funding for cancer screenings and other preventive services. Just over a year later, he announced that he's backing Mitt Romney in November.

And that's just the beginning.

Take a look at this new map to see how Mitt Romney and his friends are attacking women's rights from Arizona to New Hampshire -- then share it with anyone you know who's still sorting out which candidate has our back:

[name] - you should apply

The next class of organizing fellows is about to be picked for the last few months of this election -- and I think you should apply. I did, and I just spent an amazing summer organizing in North Carolina.

We've all got a personal story of why we support the President, and now more than ever, you've got to put it into action. Whether you're retired, in school, or just want to pitch in for President Obama's campaign as much as you can, becoming an Obama organizing fellow is the way to do it.

Get started with your application now.

It's up to all of us to make sure that every family has a shot at the American dream -- because that's really what's on the line this fall.

I became an organizing fellow in North Carolina because President Obama is working to help families like mine make a life for ourselves. My parents immigrated to the United States from India to go to college. They started from scratch, and taught me that if you put your heart into something and work hard, you should be able to make it in this country. I couldn't be more proud of what my parents have accomplished.

What motivates me to get up in the morning and go to work for this election is the opportunity to hear the stories of people from all walks of life, see what issues matter to them, and find the ways in which we can relate to one another. Plus, the local feel of this organization -- going out in your own neighborhood to make a difference for people around the block, or around the country -- is really something special.

Fellows are going to do some of our most critical organizing across the country this fall -- and with just over 100 days to go until every last vote is cast, you can bet that your role is going to be a big one. You'll do everything from organizing voter registration drives and team events, to managing your team's data, to training new volunteers.

And when voting starts, you'll be on the front lines helping get folks to the polls, and helping run one of the biggest get-out-the-vote operations this country has ever seen.

A fellowship in Maryland or in a battleground state this fall will be an unforgettable experience. It's an unpaid position, and it'll be a lot of work, but at the end of every long day you'll feel the change you've made.

So, are you ready to take this on?

Apply to be an organizing fellow now:

Standing up for Mitt

To view this email as a web page, go here.

I'm proud to support Mitt because he stands up for American entrepreneurs like myself. That's why I was happy to see the Built By Us Collection on the campaign's official online store: [url]

Mitt just gets it. He gets how much hard work and perseverance it takes to make a go of it as an entrepreneur. And he understands that at the end of the day it's people -- not the government -- who build successful businesses.

I'll be proudly displaying Built By Us gear to show my support for Mitt and the Republican team, and I hope you will too. Let's elect a president who gets it.

Mitt

As a small business owner, I appreciate Mitt's support of American entrepreneurs. So when I got a contest email about a chance to meet him and his choice for VP, I thought I'd return the favor by showing him a little support.

I clicked the link, donated and just about a week later I found out that I had actually won. So I'm writing to encourage you to do what I did: show a little support. You never know what might happen!

Donate $X today to be automatically entered for your chance to personally meet Mitt and his choice for VP.

I'm excited to meet America's Comeback Team in person, don't miss your chance to meet them too.

Good luck!

A historic step

The Democratic Party -----------------------

After a unanimous decision, the drafting committee for the Democratic National Convention embraced marriage equality as part of our platform for the 2012 Convention.

The next step will be for the full platform committee to vote on it, after which it will be presented to the delegates at the Convention in Charlotte for a final vote. Make no mistake: This is a historic step toward fairness for all. Once again, Democrats are fighting to move this country forward.

Please stand with Democrats today and support marriage equality for all Americans:

[url]

When President Obama became the first sitting president to support marriage equality, Democrats stood shoulder to shoulder with him. I still remember that day. I couldn't stop smiling.

Now, it's up to us to speak up for what he has called a simple proposition: that every single American deserves to be treated equally.

Add your name today and say you're with Democrats as we fight for the right of every American to marry the person they love:

[url] Thank you for standing up,

Congressman Barney Frank

biggest day ever!

--

In just a few hours, Speaker Boehner, Eric Cantor, and House Republicans are holding a vote to extend the Bush tax cuts for the rich.

Will you help us reach 250,000 signatures on our petition calling for an end to these reckless tax cuts for the wealthy? Add your name here [url]

Thanks to your unprecedented grassroots support, we're holding House Republicans accountable for putting millionaires and billionaires ahead of the middle class.

-- Yesterday, you helped break our all-time record for online donations in one day! Over 25,000 of you stepped up to help us win a Democratic majority for President Obama. Watch one of our new ads you helped make possible [url]

-- Last weekend, our field organizers and volunteers went neighbor-to-neighbor and house-to-house to alert voters about Republicans' latest plan to put tax breaks for millionaires ahead of the middle class. Check out some of the photos -- and sign up to volunteer in your area [url]

We can't thank you enough for making this all possible. Onward to a tremendous Democratic victory!
