In the past week, President Obama received two powerful endorsements from leaders who aren't exactly partisan Democrats: Colin Powell and Bloomberg.
Take a look at them, and forward along:
Colin Powell, former Secretary of State and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Bloomberg, mayor of New York City:
"A Vote for a President to Lead on Climate Change" Bloomberg By Mayor Bloomberg
... When I step into the voting booth, I think about the world I want to leave my two daughters, and the values that are required to guide us there. The two parties' nominees for president offer different visions of where they want to lead America.
One believes a woman's right to choose should be protected for future generations; one does not. That difference, given the likelihood of Supreme Court vacancies, weighs heavily on my decision.
One recognizes marriage equality as consistent with America's march of freedom; one does not. I want our president to be on the right side of history.
One sees climate change as an urgent problem that threatens our planet; one does not. I want our president to place scientific evidence and risk management above electoral politics.

Malarkey
|
Obama for America
With Election Day almost here, it's so important that folks like you get the word out about what a Romney-Ryan administration would mean for seniors.
If Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney had their way, they'd undo a century of progress on security for middle-class seniors -- they'd voucherize Medicare, slash Social Security benefits, and raise taxes on the middle class. It's no wonder they're hiding the details of their plans -- they just can't defend the indefensible. Like I said in my debate with Congressman Ryan: It's a bunch of malarkey.
I recorded a message that I'd like you to see and share with your friends, about how the Romney-Ryan agenda is the wrong choice for seniors.
_Please watch, and pass it on: _
You've seen it at the debates, folks -- Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan seem to hope no one's paying attention to the facts and the details. Just look at some of the claims they're making, and how extreme their agenda really is:
They've claimed that Obamacare cut $X billion from Medicare to spend on Obamacare. Fact is, the President's health care law eliminated unnecessary Medicare subsidies to insurance companies and other Medicare providers, cracking down on fraud and abuse. It does not cut funding for seniors' care -- not a single benefit. And savings in the law go straight back to you -- helping cover free preventive checkups and cancer screenings, close the doughnut hole, and keep Medicare solvent through 2024.
Then there's the Romney-Ryan plan to voucherize Medicare. Their plan would jeopardize the guaranteed benefits we've all paid into and leave a secure and healthy retirement up to the whims of insurance companies. They wouldn't admit it, of course, but their proposed changes could mean that current seniors would have to pay $X more on health care during their lifetimes -- and folks who are under 55 would be on the hook for up to $X more during their lifetimes.
They're also claiming their budget would cut taxes by 20 percent across the board, AND somehow reduce the deficit -- but the math just doesn't add up. When Congressman Ryan was asked point-blank why he and Governor Romney won't share with voters how they'd achieve this, the Congressman just kicked the can down the road, saying a Republican Congress could figure it out.
They don't have specifics because it can't be done. Paying for their $X trillion in tax cuts would require slashing essential credits for families, homeowners, and students. According to independent experts, they'd have to raise taxes on middle-class families with kids by $X a year, just to give multi-millionaires a $X tax cut. There's only one way they can pay for these huge tax cuts without blowing up the deficit or raising taxes on the middle class: more deep cuts to investments in our future, like Head Start early childhood education, job-training programs, and housing. That's the math.
That's the real story, folks. The one Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are hoping seniors won't hear about before they go to the polls.
But you can do something about it. Please get the word out to your neighbors, your friends, your family. Make sure they see this video and know exactly what's at stake on Tuesday:
_[url] _
Joe
P.S. -- Forward this message to anyone you know who has questions about how the Romney-Ryan agenda would hurt seniors and the middle class, and make sure they get involved, too.

Obama - Biden President Obama needs you on the phone, simple: In a race as close as this one, we win by getting enough people to the polls. But we'll only get it done if everyone who cares about this election steps up and helps out.
That's where you come in. For a lot of voters out there, the difference between casting a ballot or not comes down to a single conversation with someone like you.
We've crunched the numbers, and to make sure we talk to enough voters between now and Tuesday, we need 197 people in Portland making calls today.
Can you be one of them? Hop on our online call tool right now.
But don't stop there -- we've got to take advantage of every single one of these last few days, so sign up for your call shifts tomorrow and on Election Day, and join the thousands of supporters across the country who are doing the same.
This couldn't be more urgent. You know firsthand that other voters in key states like yours are seeing negative ad after negative ad attacking our progress and distorting President Obama's record, practically every time they turn on the TV.
That's the other side's strategy. And while Mitt Romney and the Republicans are outspending us on the air, we can still win if we outnumber them in a major way at the doors and on the phones.
We've been doing just that, but we have a whole lot more voters to reach, and not a whole lot of time to do it. That's exactly what the call tool is for -- but it'll only make the difference we need if people like you take advantage of it.
Start making calls right now:

People are fired up to vote this year 30,542,975 folks have already made it to the polls.
That includes 9,264 people named Agnes. And 37 people named Michelangelo. And 7,832 people named Monique. And 1,849 people named Eli. And my personal favorite: 124 people named Yohannes.
Find out how many people out there named have already voted.
Once you've done that, share the page with your friends, especially those who live in battleground states so they can see how many people with their names have already voted, and then go vote themselves.
Yeah, it's fun. But it's a great way to get out the vote, too because each person you share with will get a link that will help them find out when and where they can vote.
So help get the word out and help win this thing:

Take a look at that. Then share it with your friends so
