The gap is closing

What's worse than being outraised in a critical election year?

Knowing we could have done something about it and didn't.

So, with that in mind, I've got some news:

Romney's campaign released their July fundraising numbers. We got beat again, but the gap is closing. That's right, our grassroots donations up against their deep-pocketed donors -- and we're without a doubt starting to gain. This is proof that, if we keep our eye on the ball, we can continue to close the fundraising gap, and give Democrats what it will take to win in November.

Democrats --

The Romney camp just announced that they raised $X million in July, and while they beat the $X million we raised, I want to be the first to tell you:

Democrats came through, and we are starting to close the fundraising gap between us and them.

It's a tough fight -- but $X and $X at a time, we are continuing to prove that grassroots donations from everyday folks can go toe to toe with Romney's deep-pocketed, corporate donors any day, any time.

I couldn't be prouder of what we've done. But we're not there yet -- because we did, in fact, get beat again.

I want every single Democrat out there to be able to say at the end of this election that we did everything we could to help re-elect President Obama and help Democrats win.

It starts with you -- right now.

Please make a donation of $X or whatever you can give to help keep closing the gap between us and them:

We can do this.

Thanks,
