Democrats

It's deadline day. We're down to the last few hours before we tally up our numbers -- and make some tough calls about what Democrats can do in August. This could be our most important deadline yet.If you can, please support Democrats across the country with an urgent donation of $X or more before midnight tonight.

We're getting drastically outspent in this election, and people keep asking me how we can step it up. But the reality is, we're playing a different game -- relying on people chipping in a little bit whenever they can -- and we need to do more with less. It's my job to pinch the pennies and make sure we're putting our resources where they'll do the most. That's a tight budget. And that's why I'm emailing you. I don't think anyone makes a donation just because they're happy to hear from me again over email.

Everyone who supports Democrats is stepping up for a reason. Maybe it's because you believe in winning elections the right way, building something one person at a time, and working together toward a better future. Or because you don't want to see so much hard-fought progress erased, or a return to policies of the past that sent the country into a ditch, or maybe you're just fired up to re-elect this President and win a Democratic majority in both houses of Congress.Think about your reason for supporting Democrats, and please give $X or more today:[url]

I couldn't be prouder of what we've done together. Let's make sure we don't slip in the last few months.

Thanks,

Hildy

I'm here to tell you, really quickly, about why tonight's fundraising deadline matters.

The past couple of months, our president has been vastly outraised by Republicans. Democrats in races across the country are up against the same thing, with outside groups pouring millions in to drag us down.

If we don't stop this trend, and start closing the gap, 2012 could go down as the year that powerful special interests learned that elections can have a price tag.

I'm not willing to accept that -- and I hope you aren't either.

I promise this will be the last email you get from me for a while.

Will you help close that fundraising gap?

The Democratic Party -----------------------

Sometimes politics can seem very small.

But the choice voters face in this election couldn't be bigger.

Over the past two months, we have been outraised by our opponents. They've used that advantage to distort the truth and mislead people, over and over, on TV and the radio in battleground states.

Tonight is one of the most critical fundraising deadlines we'll face.

If we win this election, it will be because of what you did in moments like this to close the gap.

Please make a donation of $X or more right now:

In 2010, my home state of Florida elected right-wing Republican Rick Scott as our governor after he outspent his Democratic opponent by $X million -- a staggering figure for a state election.

Governor Scott has gone on to slash education funding, make it more difficult for women to control their own health decisions, and tell millions of Floridians that they're out of luck if they need quality health care coverage. It's why only 31 percent of my fellow Floridians approve of the job he's doing.

Right now, President Obama and Democrats are being outraised by Mitt Romney and the Republicans. And we're going to be outspent. Take it from me, and millions of other Floridians who have learned this the hard way -- a bad Republican candidate can overwhelm a good Democratic candidate if they have enough of a fundraising advantage. And the real-life consequences are disastrous.

Donate $X or whatever you can before our critical fundraising deadline tonight, and help make sure that doesn't happen nationally:

We're down into the double digits: Just 98 days before the election. Two months till the first presidential debate. Five weeks until the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.

And we're also just a few hours before our midnight fundraising deadline tonight:

Strap in, people, we're kicking into high gear.

After tonight, we have just three short months left to mobilize the largest grassroots organization in the history of American politics. And what we do tonight will play a huge role in deciding how successful we'll be.

Are you ready? Donate $X or more to help Democrats before midnight tonight:

Tonight's deadline will be the most critical so far. It's all going to come down to these last few months, and the budget decisions we make in August could make or break campaigns across the map.

Can you chip in $X or more before midnight?

I'm gnawing through my pen caps over here. Watching the numbers come in is not exactly a stress-free task, and that's because of what's on the line.

It's not just who will be in the White House for the next four years or whether we'll keep a Democratic majority in the Senate. It's what our country will look like for years to come: if our kids will have access to quality health care, education, and the careers they dream of, or if they'll grow up in a country whose leaders shrug and say "you're on your own."

It's in your hands. And I want to give those Democrats and the President the resources they need to get this done. Please give before the crucial midnight deadline:

J --

Days like today are part of what makes this job so nerve-wracking. How much we raise before the deadline at midnight tonight determines whether Democrats across the board will get the resources they need to win in November.

When we get the final total for how much we raised this month, we'll have some tough decisions to make -- and those decisions will be even tougher if we come up short.

I know that these emails I send might seem like a little much -- but they're important. The money we raise helps pay for our top-notch grassroots organization across the country to lay the groundwork to win in November.

We need your help to ensure that we can continue to operate at the level we know it takes to win.

Democrats

And tomorrow: new pens.
