Issue:

An OEF/OIF employee had 6 Veteran contact information from an outreach event in his backpack. He placed his backpack in back of his government car and parked it for weekend at his house, it was locked on 5/2/14. He could not find his backpack on Monday 5/5/14 and assumed he had misplaced it at home or at work. Police from Hudson, WI showed up at his house on 5/15/14 indicating garbage was strewn about the road that was linked to him. The garbage would have been contents of the backpack which was not found. The policeman said he thought the documents were garbage so they were disposed of, do not know what the disposal was.

Outcome:

05/20/14: The Incident Resolution Team has determined that six Veterans will be sent letters offering credit protection services.
