Issue:

The Privacy Officer (PO) received a Report of Contact from the call center informing him of a privacy violation. The PO contacted the Veteran who received the information. Veteran A stated he was driving and was returning the information. Veteran A stated he received Veteran Bs dependency information, which consisted of SSN and names for the spouse and children of Veteran B. He could not remember how many and it was hard to understand him over the phone. The PO is waiting on Veteran A to return the documents.

Outcome:

02/18/15: The Incident Resolution Service Team has determined that Veteran B and his oldest son will be offered credit protection services. Veteran B's other (minor) children will be entered into the VA contractor's credit watch monitoring database.
