Issue:
The Canteen Manager found an Omnicell audit that an unknown employee left in the Retail Store. The audit contained the full names of 10 Veterans, all of whom were prescribed the same medication. The Canteen Manager locked the report in her office since the Privacy Officer (PO) was off duty. The report was provided to the PO today.
Outcome:
11/13/13: The 10 Veterans will receive a HIPAA letter of notification.
