Teachers make all the difference. Mine helped me overcome childhood homelessness. Like teachers, I'll never stop fighting for our kids. Help me represent #TX24 by contributing here: https://t.co/lRNK7dIeuQ https://t.co/CxWbes8IZi
Today we celebrate #JUNETEENTH2020, a day that commemorates the delayed news of freedom received by enslaved Black people in Texas. The story of #JuneteenthDay is a story of celebration & of delayed freedom. And the fight for justice & equality 155 years later continues. https://t.co/dHF9qXhgbV

Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery and unapologetic Black joy. Joy despite the fact that America has tried to silence black voices and erase the legacy of slavery that still haunts us. Juneteenth should be a federal holiday to celebrate freedoms gained and yet to be won.
We must overcome the results of slavery. Guarantee the right to vote. Health care for all so our Black brothers and sisters don’t die from COVID19 more than others. End police brutality on our streets and in the prisons. #JUNETEENTH2020
