I challenged President @realDonaldTrump to come to South Florida only if had serious policy proposals for the Venezuelan people who fled Venezuela and are now seeking asylum in the United States.

Not only did he leave Venezuelans empty-handed with no commitment from the administration to extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for their community, but he wasted tax dollars on what looked like another rally of his.

I’ll reiterate that a path to freedom and democracy for the Venezuelan people has strong bipartisan support in the United States Congress. This is not a partisan issue and the administration must stop approaching it that way.
