When payday and predatory lenders tell Tate Reeves to dance, he dances. When his loan shark friends tell him to pass legislation benefitting their companies that prey on low-income Mississippians, he does it. Why? https://t.co/gHULTibZ1y

Reeves has gotten $440,000+ in campaign contributions from predatory lenders. In exchange he passed bills that, for example, allow small loan companies to jack up interest rates on small loans from 36% to 59%, & created an installment loan that charges interest rates up to 297%.

With Tate Reeves, everything is transactional. If you don’t pay, you don’t play. Meanwhile, students, teachers, and working folks are hung out to dry with the chronic underfunding of public schools, poor access to healthcare, and crumbling roads and bridges.
