What kind of a person exploits the tragic loss of a family member for a crass political purposes? And knowingly pushes out baseless conspiracy theories to do so? In a despicable effort to censor the press? The sad, plain truth: An amoral being like the President of the U.S.
The 2020 election will be the most important in our lifetimes: It will not just be about choosing a president. It will be about defining who we are as a nation. There’s so much more we must do to ensure our elections are free, fair, and safe. There’s no time to waste. QT @McFaul: Im still really worried about our ability (or even desire from some) to conduct a free, fair, and healthy election… https://t.co/bcCMhiZUe7)
Trump says that if more Americans vote, Republicans can’t get elected. If that’s true, it’s a good reason for the GOP to change it’s divisive platform, not disenfranchise people. This fall, no one should have to choose between their health and their vote. https://t.co/VoNkU7i7B2
For a public servant to talk this way is wrong, and dangerous. Not only for the elderly, who are at high risk, but for the young, who are becoming seriously ill. It's our duty to protect American lives. There's no age limit for this obligation.
The crisis is fast-moving, but we know this for sure: The more we do now to reduce exposure, the better our health outcomes will be. The more we do now to help workers, the better our economy will be. The more proactive our leadership, the better off our country will be. https://t.co/pl0OGOMPr8

Too many students have been defrauded by universities that lack proper credentials. Their degrees aren't recognized, but they still owe a lifetime of debt. The owner of now-defunct Trump University, and his Education Secretary, don’t seem to care. But we do. It’s a great day to vote in beautiful downtown Burbank! I’ve just cast my ballot, and I encourage my fellow Californians to do to the same. Every vote counts. You can find your early voting options here: https://t.co/XVZjW6OAW0 https://t.co/Dmc62lfrMS

Trump promised not to touch Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid. His budget cuts them all. It also cuts affordable housing, education and the EPA. Promises made. Promises broken. Today, the House did its duty. Because American voters, not foreign powers, decide our elections. Because a president cannot abuse his power to cheat in an election, and then obstruct Congress's investigation. The people want a fair trail in the Senate. Let’s hope they get it.
Many of our Democratic freshman served in military and other national security roles, as was evident in this week's debate about war powers. As Rep. Slotkin said, “If our loved ones are going to be sent to fight,“ the American people, though their legislators, should have a say. QT @RepSlotkin: For me, this is not a theoretical exercise: My husband spent 30 years in the Army, and retired as a Colonel; my s… https://t.co/7XWMwAPEn2)
In 20 states, from Arkansas to California, workers are getting a raise. As the GOP cut taxes for big business and billionaires, @fightfor15 and union power increased the minimum wage for 7 million. It’s time for the Senate to pass our bill to raise it across the country. Trump and the GOP had one signature policy: a tax cut for the wealthy. Did it boost economic growth, as promised? No. Pay for itself? No. Spur business investment? No. Increase worker pay? Hell no. Does the GOP have any case left for re-election? You know the answer. QT @CNBC: Trump's tax cut isn't giving the US economy the boost it needs https://t.co/dhgQQu403y)
