The idea that some person working a minimum wage job should bail out another person working a minimum wage job is preposterous—people who are already strapped for cash shouldn’t be asked to donate it. There’s a reason we have a government. Why not use it?

It’s true that in times like these we have to stick together and support one another emotionally. But monetarily? Even a small tax on short term financial transactions or wealth could pay for dozens of testing sites, revitalize food banks, and keep people from going hungry.

You can’t win by alienating people. The beauty of Democratic Socialism is that within it, there’s a spot for everyone—regardless of creed, nationality, gender, or sexuality.

There is no movement so naturally intersectional and diverse as the American working class, and their victory marks a step closer to liberation for oppressed peoples everywhere.

Imperialism abroad makes social democracy at home nearly impossible. We must end the military-industrial complex's influence over our government, end endless wars abroad, and work on building a society that cares for its members.

In a world with universal sick leave, government rent assistance, and universal healthcare, there might still be a disparity in outcomes: the gap would no doubt be smaller, and far fewer people would be losing their lives. Inequality kills—and we must do away with it.

16 million people have become unemployed in the past three weeks as the Fed pumps $2.3 trillion to Wall Street, and stocks surge. We need to bailout the people, not the plutocrats.
