6/ She’d gone through hell with harassment. And now, this guy opened up hell’s door for her again. She was hurt from having her trust abused when she thought people wanted to hear her story. She quit tech for good not long afterwards.

5/ You have to understand, when you’re on camera, you’re trying to be expressive and succinct, and also think carefully about what you say. It’s exhausting. And a shoot day goes on forever. I didn’t fall for it. But a woman of color that participated in another location did.

‍♀️4/ Then he moves on, and eventually comes back to that same question, asking me to advocate doxing Gamergaters again. I say, “No.” And then, we work for 15 more minutes, and he asks me again. I realize he’s trying to catch me saying something he can use against me.

3/ But he throws in this question in the middle of it. “But shouldn’t we hunt down the people that did this to you and publish their personal information back?” And I say, “No, of course not. That would be wrong.”

2/ I agreed to a shoot regarding Gamergate at my house. The journalist in question had done conservative-leaning stuff. But he was legit, and I work with people I don’t agree with all the time. 99 percent of the day-long shoot was routine.
