2/ But, I want to tell you about my friend Laura and why I support bringing Amazon to Boston. We both grew up in Mississippi together.

3/ Laura isn’t an engineer, but she is a very hard worker. She left MS when I did and got a job in Seattle doing customer support on S3.

4/ Amazon pays her a good wage. Her husband installs internet for a cable company, and they make enough to own a Seattle house.

5/ They’ve also given her great maternity leave and support w/ her first child. Those are kinds of jobs I am interested in bringing to MA.

6/ I definitely agree there’s a discussion to be had about Amazon being good for Boston. But, I think it’s simplistic to just denounce them.

RE: Amazon in Boston. I am very aware of their anti-Union business practices. Also, Kindle takes 70 percent of the money from book sales.
