Tweet In a call with the Honarary Consul of Ukraine today, Valeriy Goloborodko, I reassured him Washington state stands resolute with Ukraine against Putin’s madness. We will continue to support robust military and humanitarian aid, and will oppose efforts to give hope to Putin.
For those who worry about the challenge of sweeping the Astros in three straight, it would be wise to follow famous fireballer and reining diamond intellectual Nuke LaLoosh’s philosophy, “You know you’ve got to play ‘em one day at a time, though.” Go @Mariners! #Postseason https://t.co/NeuUk8OMRP

Tomorrow marks the first date in our state history that we recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday. While we celebrate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans more than 150 years ago, we still have a long ways to go to dismantle racism and the legacy of slavery. https://t.co/Ip4fu47MXD

@madeleine will be remembered as one of our nation’s greatest and most inspiring diplomats. Her passion for democracy was rooted in lessons from her youth as a refugee from both Nazi Germany and Soviet communism. Her legacy is our opportunity to build on those lessons.

We have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. As a co-chair of @americaisallin, I support the call on Congress to pass the #BuildBackBetter act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs act. https://t.co/yUDXDzWcal
The passing of former Rep. Sherwood Boehlert leaves a memory of a courageous advocate protecting our environment. He was almost a lone voice Republican voice for climate action. It would be great if more leaders follow his inspirational leadership.
Thanks to @waDNR for their hard work preventing and surprising wildfires this year. Because of their work, and the diligence of Washingtonians across the state, we can again enjoy more of our public lands. QT @waDNR: Our public lands in eastern Washington are open again for recreation, camping and hunting.)
My heart also goes out to the families of the service members and civilians who lost their lives in Kabul today. This attack shows how critical these evacuation efforts are. We owe a debt of gratitude to the service members who are risking their lives bringing people to safety.

The announcements made today by the Biden-Harris administration are a strong commitment to federal-state partnership. I look forward to working with them to strengthen our long-term wildfire response. https://t.co/W4OTEAdEsU
We’ve made state investments in wildfire suppression and forest help, and we need additional federal support, especially on federal forestlands. We also have to make sure communities like Malden, Washington aren’t left out from FEMA individual assistance after fires.
Today I was pleased to join @POTUS, @VPOTUS and my fellow governors to discuss how we’re getting ready for the 2021 fire season and how to prepare for wildfires that burn bigger, hotter and longer because of climate change. https://t.co/8CMFYmPsUx
As I discussed with @POTUS, federal wildfire resources are needed, but the only way to save our forests is to tackle the climate crisis. And that means passing the full #AmericanJobsPlan, with climate investments that meet the scale of the crisis.
