.@HurdOnTheHill has worked to improve the care of those who fought for this great nation, seeking to improve our military installations and to reform the VA health system.
.@RepMarthRoby has also been dedicated to our military and veterans. She exposed problems at the Central Alabama VA Health Care System, and she led efforts to stop devastating cuts that threaten military readiness.
.@RepMarthRoby has been a passionate voice for women, often traveling to Afghanistan on Mother’s Day to promote the rights of women there and to visit our female troops serving in harm’s way apart from their own children.
.@RepMarthaRoby has been as a tireless advocate for Alabama and her district over the decade she has served in Congress. Our Committee and the nation are better off because of her service, and we will miss her voice in the Congress. https://t.co/b7TlbH7XF9
.@HurdOnTheHill is a fellow Texan and a national security expert. Our Committee will miss his good-natured, yet serious approach to solving the most challenging issues. https://t.co/5vxG2u9Gep

“I welcome the renewed focus on the need for US-based capacity and resilient supply chains.” – @TomColeOK04 https://t.co/qlWhb5ylEV
Fortunately, the CARES Act, signed into law in March, included key steps to study ways our nation can break its dependence on other countries.
For far too long, our nation’s medical supply chains has been too reliant on countries like China. Not only does it pose an economic risk – like we have seen during the coronavirus pandemic – but also a national security threat possible of crippling our health system.
Reassuring statistics from @SecWilkie at @DeptVetAffairs: ✔ 75% of 11K+ infected veterans outside the 14 day window & recovering at home ✔ 2 weeks’ supply of PPE ✔ 10K+ medical staff surge-hired ✔ staff deployed to nursing homes ✔ non-veteran patients accepted in hotspots
