I was grateful to have Kristen, a 5th grade teacher in Beaverton, join me on @KGWStraightTalk for an important discussion about the challenges she faced navigating the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. https://t.co/Ppkofalors
I’m fighting to make sure that @usedgov fulfills the promise made to so many people in public service.
The Opportunity to Address College Hunger Act will help more students access existing federal resources that they may already qualify for, but may not know about.
It’s extremely difficult for students to focus on their education when they are hungry or worrying about where to find their next meal. https://t.co/hAMD1p7BHI
Thank you to our law enforcement officers and the first responders who quickly ended this dangerous situation in Gaston. I’m thinking of the two @WSCOOregon deputies who were injured and join the community in wishing them a speedy and full recovery. https://t.co/vcUjkup4pa

This bill provides: $1.3 billion for flexible block grants (Title IV-A) that allow school districts to provide programs for mental health, drug and violence prevention, #STEAM & more $650 million for @IESResearch to evaluate education policies and research

The bill provides: $3 billion for state grants for implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act $250 million for Registered Apprenticeships $5 million for Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations program $1.9 billion for Job Corps

Conditions at ICE facilities led detainees to protest with a hunger strike. Rather than addressing the concerns, ICE force-fed the detainees. Today I joined @VGEscobar in leading 47 of our colleagues to call on @DHSgov’s IG to launch an investigation. https://t.co/LvsWt4lY22
