In the midst of the pandemic, many Valley residents were experiencing or at risk of homelessness. That is why I proudly voted for the American Rescue Plan, which created Project Homekey to help local governments convert hotels & vacant apartment buildings into permanent housing.
This critical program has been working in Fresno, creating more housing to protect vulnerable residents. Additionally, I’ve secured $1 million to build affordable tiny homes in Fresno to help homeless residents attain affordable, permanent housing.
Had a great tour with Mayor Dyer and city leaders to learn about how Project Homekey is reducing homelessness in Fresno. We also spoke about the need to build tiny homes to provide permanent shelter. I’m currently working in Congress to secure funding for this critical effort. https://t.co/w4xttqbpRA
