Saddened to see what has happened to Victory Baptist Church — a historic landmark in our community where Dr. King spoke and where Mahalia Jackson sang. Thinking of the congregation today as well as the first responders injured in the fire last night. https://t.co/0CReeDe22Z
Heat? No sweat. So proud to celebrate today with @LALabor and the working people of this city. Los Angeles will always be a Union Town. Happy #LaborDay! https://t.co/1LTW1diLlr
I'm honored to have the support of Attorney General Rob Bonta. I look forward to working together to make Los Angeles safer for all. Join us: https://t.co/536QOz6IUb https://t.co/0PsL9wY2n6
"Karen Bass will stand up to the NRA, the gun lobby, and Republican politicians who believe any 18 year-old should be able to buy weapons of war. Los Angeles deserves a mayor who takes gun safety seriously. That’s why I’m endorsing her today.” - CA Attorney General @RobBonta https://t.co/pmDYc9fxxL

This disease is a crisis for all of Los Angeles, not just the LGBTQ+ community. If COVID-19 taught us anything, it’s that we need to make vaccine access a priority and protect marginalized communities. https://t.co/ivzTUoFBbR
The momentum we've seen since the primary is unprecedented. I am building a coalition so we can marshal the resources we need to successfully address homelessness and crime as well as making this city more affordable for all. Join us: https://t.co/536QOyOzG3 https://t.co/jl2Iydtfp1
Developing reports about this shooting are increasingly alarming. There needs to be a full and transparent investigation into what happened on Monday in the Leimert Park neighborhood. https://t.co/nEuPHXDPkb
It was an absolute honor today to receive the endorsement of @chirlafund today. This solidarity is nothing new. I’ve worked with CHIRLA since it's founding. Whether your family has lived in our city for 100 years or one month, I will fight for you, just like I always have. https://t.co/Z1tIZFvvAx
Please read my campaign's statement on public safety in our city issued this morning. https://t.co/1J74DYTL5A
Infrastructure means JOBS. Thanks again to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for visiting Los Angeles this week to see firsthand the impact we’re having in our communities. https://t.co/s93mfMoq8D

I saw an article over the weekend wondering if people were even going to notice the Supreme Court decisions released last week. Tonight I was joined by more than 15,000 people on my telephone town hall with @RepRaskin. I think that answers the question.
When I worked at Community Coalition in South LA, I worked with young people who didn't know they were undocumented until they applied for college. I’ve seen the pain a winding path to citizenship can cause for a family and a community. This is a personal fight for me. 2/
Today we celebrate the resilience of #Dreamers and recognize the contributions of millions of undocumented immigrants to this country, but we also must recommit to passing permanent solutions for our millions of undocumented neighbors who call the United States home.
10 years ago today, President Obama announced the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Program, allowing Dreamers to study, work and live in the only country many of them have ever known as home.
We have already passed the #DreamAct in the House to give Dreamers a pathway to citizenship and there are other pieces of legislation like the US Citizenship Act that we must get passed. I will always fight for the immigrant communities in this country. #HomeIsHere
Promoting security, prosperity and democracy in the Western Hemisphere and all around the world has a direct impact on the people in L.A. that I’m so proud to represent in Congress. Great to see @POTUS at the Summit of the Americas this week pushing our country forward! https://t.co/5F2Gj81mbW
What Edna Chavez told millions watching at the #MarchForOurLives in 2018 has stuck with me to this day. I founded Community Coalition to fight for public safety in our neighborhoods. Inspired to see the young people in our community continuing that same fight. https://t.co/y5TrhD1A4C

Los Angeles deserves a mayor that will stand up to the gun lobby, not cower before it. #GunViolenceAwarenessDay
One group that’s incredibly prone to falling into homelessness is people who were formerly incarcerated. Today, @SecFudge and I are meeting with service providers to find ways to make changes that will ultimately get people in housing faster. https://t.co/5vhmBqVnqc
Today, we mourn the fallen members of the Armed Services. We honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country abroad and domestically. We express our gratitude to those who have worn the uniform and those who have taken the oath to protect our country.
Today, we mark Memorial Day amid great loss and great sacrifice in our country. As we mourn those who have served this country with bravery and courage both abroad in war and domestically in crisis, we express our humble gratitude. Thank you.
L.A. deserves a mayor we can trust to always fight to ensure that women here have the right to choose. I will never waiver and have never wavered in this fight. Thank you to the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County Action Fund (@PPAPLAC) for your endorsement.
We can feel the excitement and love in every neighborhood — this city is ready for real and lasting change. In 10 days, we’re going to bring it — together. Thank you Atwater Village and Playa Vista! https://t.co/y4lGtvJ4vv
RT @ResistLa_La: @tedlieu @HouseJudiciary @RepKarenBass Thank You for coming to my neighborhood, my community and taking an interest in Criminal Justice Reform. https://t.co/DrgeeRXCSu
14 children and a teacher had their lives cut short today because of the absolute cowardice of the Republican party, which refuses to pass our gun reform legislation. We cannot grow numb to these shootings. We must continue our fight. We need to pass reforms NOW.
The choice before our city is clear — do we go backwards to policies that have failed us time and time again , or do we move forward together to build a Los Angeles that works for everyone? The answer is clear. Vote by June 7th!
The choice before this city is clear — do we go backwards to policies we know do not work, or do we go forward with new ideas to finally successfully address the top issues we’re facing like homelessness and crime.
All across the nation, we will send a message that being pro-choice is non-negotiable. We will fight. We will vote. We will win. https://t.co/536QOyOzG3 #BansOffOurBodies https://t.co/IlEJiMHcJQ
We must hold our elected officials accountable when it comes to whether or not they support a woman’s right to choose. We will fight. We will vote. We will win. #BansOffOurBodies https://t.co/fAvkAJqSZn
The mass shootings in Milwaukee and Buffalo happening over the past 24 hours are heartbreaking and infuriating. The reality is that we can stop the rising gun violence in this country — Republicans just refuse to do so. So much for “pro-life”.

I've ran towards crises to get the job done for the people of Los Angeles my entire life. That's why I'm running for mayor - to address homelessness, reduce crime and make this city more affordable for everyone. Let's do this -- together. https://t.co/CLkJfFuOzr https://t.co/7HwkRXBh70
