A jury of his peers found Derek Chauvin guilty of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd, and their decision must be respected. (1/2)
The House passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to create a framework of national standards for police departments, including addressing inequities and hiring and training issues, and the Senate must respond to this action to ensure racial justice in policing. (3/3)
My support is with Mr. Floyd’s family and all Black, Indigenous and people of color who have suffered from acts of racism and violence by law enforcement. (2/2)
I pushed to lower drug costs by closing a loophole in @US_FDA drug apps, which will allow generic drugs to come to market much faster. I am proud to have helped pass this bipartisan bill, because Americans deserve access to affordable, lifesaving medications. (1/2)
Watch me speak on the House floor about the bill here: https://t.co/xCUtiNwQZ9 Or read more here: https://t.co/n6qAn6ZbMx (2/2)
As a licensed veterinarian, I know the importance of having accessible veterinary services in our communities, especially in rural areas. That’s why the VMLRP Enhancement Act is so important. Lifting the burdensome tax on the program will get more veterinarians to places in need. Tonight I voted in support of a resolution calling on Vice President Pence to mobilize the Cabinet and invoke the 25th amendment to remove President Trump from office. Today I met with constituent representatives from @HRC to discuss the Every Child Deserves a Family Act, of which I am a cosponsor. This bill would protect LQBTQ foster and adoptive families. Thanks for meeting with me today and keep up the good work! https://t.co/byiASWxqRJ

Students defrauded by for-profit colleges are often left with crippling debt, useless degrees and none of the opportunities they were promised. This is wrong and today the House of Representatives reversed an unnecessarily cruel rule, enacted by Secretary DeVos. https://t.co/xYT1TCl6lZ
These preyed upon borrowers are often older, first generation students and veterans. They should be able to access relief from the loans they took out to attend these fraudulent schools and move forward with their lives.
It is a very busy week in Washington! Watch my video update below to learn more about how I am voting to: Protect our Oregon coast from the effects of global warming Help Oregon farmers secure their workforce Lower drug costs for hundreds of thousands of constituents
Cuts to SNAP will affect thousands of Oregonians who are food insecure, many of whom are seniors, veterans and children. These cuts are cruel and unnecessary. I will continue to stand in strong support of SNAP. https://t.co/9TYC02hlxS
Tune in to @1190KEX today at 12:00 pm to hear me talk with Mark Mason about HR 3.
Latino businesses are among the fastest growing in Oregon. Latino Business Alliance is dedicated to helping local Latino owned businesses across the state. Today I sat down with members to talk about what challenges they see for local businesses. https://t.co/NFPJ9cf8DA
Today the House voted to protect millions of acres of wilderness and national treasures like the Grand Canyon and Chaco National Park. I am proud to have voted in support of these bipartisan bills that will protect our public lands for generations to come. https://t.co/rEJFhtK7gB
@EnergyCommerce The first amendment that we will be debating is my bipartisan BIOSIM Bill that will reign in health care costs for many who are battling rare diseases and need access to biosimilar drugs.
@EnergyCommerce The cost of insulin has nearly tripled in the last 10 years. This endangers the lives of millions of Americans living with diabetes. This is just one of the reasons I am fighting to lower prescriptions prices for Oregonians.
The racist comments made by President Trump about my colleagues in Congress are extremely offensive and totally unacceptable. Comments like this have no place in our country, especially from our Commander in Chief. https://t.co/wj9BuiSHQ0
