3/3 The Postal Service Reform Act would repeal the requirement for the Postal Service to pre-fund retiree health benefits and will integrate those plans with Medicare to ensure our postal workers receive the Medicare benefits they have earned.
2/3 The USPS’s financial condition has been deteriorating over the past decade and the provisions in this bill are critical to helping the Postal Service remain financially stable.
1/3 This week the @OversightDems passed H.R. 3077, the Bipartisan Postal Service Reform Act, which will strengthen the financial viability of the United States Postal Service.

3/3 Those same wages and benefits allowed the creation of the middle class in America. With the growing wealth disparity in this Nation, it is time we strengthened our federal laws to restore the promise of the American dream. #PROAct
2/3 The #PROAct will empower workers to exercise their right to join a Union and secure free and fair Union elections. The wages, benefits and working conditions of Union workers have set the standard for all workers in this country.
1/3 Very pleased to see the House passed H.R. 842, the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, which will provide the most significant upgrade for workers’ collective bargaining rights in more than 80 years.
The #JusticeInPolicing Act will strengthen police development and training programs, and ensure that rogue personnel are subject to independent oversight and held accountable.
As an original co-sponsor, very pleased to vote to pass HR 1280, the George Floyd #JusticeInPolicing Act of 2021. This landmark bill will ban the “Minneapolis” chokehold policy that authorized officers to render a suspect unconscious.
Proud to see the House passed HR 1 #ForThePeople which will strengthen our democracy by expanding access to voting, safeguarding voting rights, reducing the influence of big money donors in politics & strengthening ethics & conflict of interest standards for government officials.

1/3 Unfortunately PHMSA has allowed the Weymouth Compressor Station to resume full operations after completing an investigation into the unplanned gas releases that caused the site to deploy two emergency shutdowns in September last year.
3/3 The Weymouth Compressor Station remains a dangerous threat to the public health and safety of Weymouth residents and surrounding communities, and I urged @FERC to expeditiously move to rehear the approval of the in-service certificate. https://t.co/zNHLiI8fkr
2/3 However @FRRAC_MA has requested a rehearing of approval for the compressor station’s in-service certificate granted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Although FERC did revoke their previous denial of the rehearing request they have yet to grant approval.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the crew of the Emmy Rose, their families and the New England Fishing Community. We remain grateful for the heroic service of the men and women of the @uscoastguard and their valiant rescue efforts by sea and air.
These essential front-line workers risked their lives throughout the pandemic to run & maintain the trains & now up to 2,0000 Amtrak employees are at risk of losing their jobs if the Senate doesn’t pass emergency funding the House provided in the updated #HEROESAct. #FUNDAMTRAK

3/3 Our sincere condolences to the people of Ireland - especially our friends and family in Derry and Moville/Greencastle. Safe Home John Hume.
2/3 And with a lovely singing voice. He sang "The Town I Loved So well" at my St. Patty's Day Breakfast in SB 2001. He brought the house down. I told him if I knew he could sing so well I never would have asked him up. He howled.
1/3 Very sad to lose John Hume. He was such a good and decent man. A true champion of peace and reconciliation in Ireland. His work with President Clinton, PM Tony Blair and Ian Paisley was historic and improved daily life for the people of Northern Ireland.
