.@BIAofNH has compiled a list of guidance and resources available to Granite State businesses impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. This information can be accessed online by clicking below. https://t.co/BGw1lkTdJI
The spread of COVID-19 has brought to the forefront the pressing need for cooperation in Washington. My op-ed on how Congress can build on the bipartisanship that led to last week’s emergency funding legislation to address other challenges facing NH: https://t.co/qP97T8HuCF
NH state health officials are working diligently to respond to & contain the virus. We need to ensure NH and all states have the resources they need to work w/@CDCgov and combat this public health threat. Read our letter here. https://t.co/BFtigCOv3h
Building on our coordinated effort across all levels of government to respond to & mitigate the spread of coronavirus in NH, @SenatorHassan, @RepAnnieKuster, @RepPappas and I are calling on Senate & House leadership to reimburse NH & states’ spending on the coronavirus response.
Lebanese officials have been provided ample opportunity to free Amer Fakhoury (Dover). When a U.S. citizen is wrongfully arrested by a foreign government we must do everything to bring them home. That's why I'm introducing a sanctions bill w/@SenTedCruz: https://t.co/2uWFfrCp8b
President Trump promised to not cut Medicare & Medicaid. Yet his budget released today slashes funding for both. Granite Staters rely on these programs to live healthy, productive lives. Medicaid is our best tool to deliver substance use treatment. These cuts are a non-starter.
The President’s budget also eliminates funding for LIHEAP, a program that thousands of NH residents, including seniors, rely on to heat their homes. It’s shameful the admin is gutting programs that support middle-class families to pay for the tax cuts they gave to the wealthy.
.@POTUS's budget also makes devastating cuts to critical agencies and programs, like @CDCgov, which is leading the effort against Coronavirus, @NBRC_Team, which invests in rural NH communities & resources I fought for to improve mental health services for law enforcement.
As Congress begins its important work to fund the government for the coming year, I'll oppose these cuts and fight to ensure to ensure NH communities receive the resources they needs to combat issues like the substance use epidemic & the growing crisis of law enforcement suicide.
E-cigarette manufacturers have fueled the youth vaping crisis through direct marketing to young people. Youth tobacco use is now at its highest rate in 20 yrs. My bipartisan bill forces e-cigarette manufacturers pay fees to @US_FDA to fund the agency’s response to this epidemic. QT @JAMAPediatrics: Rise of e-cigarette use among youth has been associated with the JUUL device. A new study @JAMAPediatrics reports i… https://t.co/Y2v4ryPHKN)
Proud to work with @lisamukowski, @SenatorDurbin, @SenatorRomney, @SenatorBaldwin and @SenatorCollins on the Resources to Prevent Youth Vaping Act to force e-cigarette manufacturers to fund FDA efforts to address this crisis. https://t.co/hEj7bH388J
Rye & Portsmouth Harbors are vital to their communities. During a hearing today, I received an assurance from the nominee to be Under Secretary of the Army that, if confirmed, he would fulfill my request to prioritize critical water infrastructure projects at the harbors. https://t.co/x6ODV4uCXQ
These projects are vital to ensuring public safety and supporting the regional economy. Today I also led the NH delegation in sending a letter to @OMBPress and the Army Corps of Engineers requesting their inclusion in the FY 2020 Corps Work Plan. https://t.co/dMhafVfkYF
As young people increasingly utilize rapidly evolving online technology, it has never been more important for law enforcement to understand the threats that are emerging on the internet, including exploitation and sex trafficking.
I’m glad that @TheJusticeDept has awarded an $994K grant to @UofNH to conduct a new National Juvenile Online Victimization Study. The data collected will help ensure law enforcement have the info they need to protect children and teens.
Granite Staters in southeastern New Hampshire rely on the Hinsdale-Brattleboro bridge for daily travel. I'm thrilled to see federal funding be invested in a project to replace this bridge, which is critical for public safety and a boon for economic development. https://t.co/oL12bpp3aZ
Great to visit PNSY this morning with @USNavyCNO and hear more about critical construction projects that will allow PNSY to meet the future maintenance demands of our submarine fleet. These projects will bolster the Shipyard’s vital role in support of our national defense.
The research done by @USArmy’s Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory in Hanover helps ensures our military is well-prepared to operate in cold environments. The $18 million secured in the bipartisan funding legislation to bolster the lab’s work will go a long way.
