Where we fought for $1,200 survival checks & $600 unemployment supplements, Republicans cut this amount in half. Where we fought for small business funding, Republicans fought for corporate interests. Dems wanted more for working class families, and Republicans refused.
Democrats fought hard for key provisions in this bill: - Survival checks available to mixed status families; - Critical funding for SNAP; - Rental assistance; - Enhanced unemployment; - Vaccine distribution funding Come January 21st, I will be fighting for more.
Despite its shortcomings, I am hopeful that this stopgap bill can be a bridge to a more complete economic recovery package. I am committed to building on the gains we made to set our country forward on the path to recovery.
269 days have passed since the federal government provided aid to the American people. Tonight’s deal is far from enough, but it keeps good on the table & roofs over the heads of our community. Dems fought hard, and Republicans made it clear where their priorities lie.

John was ‘Mr Union’ in TX for many years. He always had a great smile & handshake. I walked many picket lines w/ him, & I’m sure he’s already organizing the angels above for bigger wings, clearer clouds & brighter halos. Watch over us from above, TX is on the verge of change. https://t.co/SmnPVTUA3w
Las latinas son esenciales, ahora más que nunca durante esta pandemia. Las trabajadoras latinas han mantenido al país moviéndose hacia adelante. Ellas se merecen que cerremos las brechas raciales y de género que existen con respeto a sus salarios. #LasLatinasSonEsenciales https://t.co/ocUa9J6FlE
Latinas are essential, now more than every during this pandemic. Latina workers have kept American running during this pandemic. They deserve better and we owe it to them to close the gender and racial #PayGap. #LatinasAreEssential https://t.co/yj2wHS6Gmt
Today is #LatinaEqualPayDay: the day that the average pay for Latinas catches up to what white men made LAST YEAR. We must close the #GenderPayGap Latinas experience every day, who on average make 55 cents for every dollar a white, non-Hispanic makes. https://t.co/ul0zekf6Wv
