The furniture industry was hit hard by the adverse impacts of the #coronavirus. This afternoon, I joined Hoosier members of @my_HFA to discuss my RESTART Act and my other initiatives to help get these businesses up and running.
Yesterday I stopped in Valparaiso at Zimmer Biomet Hibbard. Thanks to a $236,000 PPP loan this company was able to keep 18 full-time and six part-time employees on the payroll despite a 95% decline in sales. https://t.co/1fxx6ueKM1
My RESTART Act will build upon PPP to keep more Hoosier workers employed and small businesses afloat, like those at the South Bend Chocolate Company. https://t.co/zpbRePZPqe

This afternoon I spoke with the Burmese Church and Community Leaders on the ongoing humanitarian crisis occurring in western Burma and how this pandemic impacts diplomacy in the region.
Today I connected with members of the @SWINChamber, @MayorWinnecke, and received an update from Dr. Porter. Thrilled to hear that the Community Relief Fund raised $2.7M for those in need.
