Yesterday, @RepDeanPhillips and I introduced the bipartisan Paycheck Protection Flexibility Act. For many of business owners, particularly local restaurants, hotels, and those in the hospitality industry, the PPP loan terms are too inflexible to provide the help they need.
Many businesses are already four weeks into the loan and need this flexibility immediately before the forgiveness timeline runs out. You can find out the specifics of our legislation here: https://t.co/Ps1rrnCcja
This isn't a Republican or Democratic problem. It is an American problem. I've teamed up with my friend across the aisle Rep. Phillips to introduce the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act to provide essential flexibility to PPP loans. Time is of the essence.
#TX21 is home to the most restaurants per capita in Texas, employing more than 50,000 Texans. We've already seen many of our favorite local restaurants close for good. PPP cannot protect jobs if workers have no job to return to after state and local lockdowns are lifted.
RT @JCFletcher12: @ATXKrystal @chiproytx @wendydavis You might want to get the district right! Unless Wendy has plans to move, again #TX21
