I am calling on the State Democratic Party to appoint an independent investigator to look into the Philadelphia party committee's endorsement of a Donald Trump supporter for the 184th State House District, over an incumbent Democrat.

It isn’t right when our entrenched party bosses call for the ousting of an incumbent Democrat for a Trump-supporting challenger. If the city Democratic machine is going to lift up Trumpists over qualified Dem women, then the Philadelphia Democratic City Committee is worthless.

Why and how the Philadelphia Democratic Party endorsed a Trumpist is an open question, but it deserves a good answer that only an independent investigation can provide. An investigation should follow every lead - from money, to favors, and everything in between.

I, along with plenty of grassroots Democrats, want a Philadelphia Democratic Party that only supports strong, progressive Democrats. That isn't a crazy ask.

Until there is an investigation, we, as Democrats, cannot have confidence in the Philadelphia Democratic Party.

I am running, in part, to ensure that we Democrats have representatives that are responsive to progressive rank-and-file Democrats, while pulling in new, younger progressive voters. Our party leadership is failing us.

I came to the Philly community for a Master's of Public Health Degree, but I joined the community at testing sites and at grassroots organizations to help those in need as the pandemic left Philly in crisis. Now, I run to advocate for change in the community and beyond.

When talking about sexual assault, it’s more than saying “you’re strong.” We need education surrounding the issue and the promotion of respectful relationships. We need more robust and accessible services for survivors of violence. #SAAM

When talking about sexual assault, we must call attention to inordinate violences against women of color such as the alarming rates of missing and murdered Indigenous women, police brutality against Black women, and violence against transgender women of color. #SAAM
