To fight poverty Pres. Johnson opened Office of Economic Opportunity. Ronald Reagan then closed it & instead started "block grants," which can be like a code for "block it on the state level." As president I'll reopen the OEO & restart direct help to Community Action Agencies!

What bad public policy created good public policy can uncreate. Repeal the 2017 $2T tax cut (put back in the middle class cut); end corporate subsidies; cut military to what the military says it needs, not just what defense contractors want; add tax on billionaires & over $50M.

We have 41 million people living in poverty & 93 million in near poverty. Those aren't just numbers; they're real people with real economic anxiety over what will happen if they or one of their kids get sick, how they'll send their kids to college, or pay off their college loans.
