@ScottAdamsSays The question also assumes that an ICU hospital bed is something difficult to create. It is not. The only barrier is government, and it is a huge one. Certificate of need laws and licensing. A majority of doctors could easily create an ICU in a spare bedroom of her house.

@ScottAdamsSays The question makes sense only in a regime of government ownership of the means of production of medical care, which it does. In a free market there would be no shortage of hospital beds for more than 10 seconds. Entrepreneurs would create 1,000s of new beds in face of shortage.

@hiredgnu @Needles_n_Sins @ScottAdamsSays I remember a news story claiming that thousands of new vents were taken in unopened boxes to dump in Miami, FL. One could have obtained one of those for the cost of transportation. (All beside the point though. It is not a question of the cost of the equipment. Only government.)

@JohnRad15 @Michael06837365 @ScottAdamsSays Housing shortages are another problem of government regulation. Just look at the city's with housing problems: blue cities (NYC, LA) smothered with regulations. In the absence of government regulation, there would be adequate housing for everyone.

@mlcowen
@hiredgnu @Needles_n_Sins @ScottAdamsSays Are you a FED? Government regulation is the problem. It is not a problem of equipment cost or employees.

@JohnRad15 @Michael06837365 @TuckerDunn6 @ScottAdamsSays You are confusing fascism with free enterprise. I agree that most governments are today fascist. In economics fascism is the collaboration of government and big business. Our current main ruler is #BigPharma. Oligarchs pay for friendly governments and media. Result = today!

@JohnRad15 @Michael06837365 @TuckerDunn6 @ScottAdamsSays Imposition means force. I am opposed to the non-defensive use of force. Freedom is the protection of private property rights by the rule of law.

@mlcowen
@JohnRad15 @Michael06837365 @TuckerDunn6 @ScottAdamsSays Now we are nitpicking definitions. Free enterprise is "free," no force. Get it? There is almost no free enterprise in the world today. Government and big business are tied at the hip and in lock step. That is fascism.

@mlcowen
@JohnRad15 @TuckerDunn6 @Michael06837365 @ScottAdamsSays Homelessness is a function of government regulation. Just look at the most homeless cities and you will find that they are socialist cities like LA and NYC.

@ShiningCityUSA_ @ScottAdamsSays A single ICU nurse could be trained in months or less. You are very much mistaken to assume, as your question does, that anything like a free market exists in medicine today.
mlcowen (X-Ga.)
@mlcowen
@ShiningCityUSA_ @Partisa25432309 @ScottAdamsSays Entrepreneurs could hire thousands of recently fired unvaccinated medical personnel and create a giant free market facility, if government would allow it. It could be done in months. Remember that the Empire State Building was built in one year in a time of little regulation.

@JohnRad15 @Michael06837365 @ScottAdamsSays I am opposed to zoning which is a big government thing. Land is useless without work. I suppose it is land that you want to own rather than the labor of other people. By the way, the ownership of the labor of other people is called slavery.

@JohnRad15 @TuckerDunn6 @Michael06837365 @ScottAdamsSays Homelessness is a function of government regulations (desired by rich people) to ban cheap housing in cities in order to protect the property values of rich people. The rich people use force (through their governments) to create protective regulations and they use their police.
