I believe in our country. It’s possible to do right by our communities those seeking a better life. There’s too much at stake for my Republican colleagues to remain unwilling to come to the table. It’s long past time to work together.

At the close of another week, we are continuing to face the choice as a nation to address challenges at our border with compassion and dignity or to choose cruelty and bigotry. For me, the choice is easy, even if the solutions are hard.
