Bio, via Staten Island Live:
Ferreri -- who was conferred a doctorate in business administration in 2016 and has since has earned the right to be called doctor -- was appointed Staten Island University Hospital's president and chief executive officer in August of 2003, a post he held for 12 years. He earned a master's of science degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from Rutgers University and a bachelor of arts degree in social studies from Wagner College, where he's a member of the adjunct faculty in the Nursing Practice Management Doctoral Program. At SIUH, he sat at the helm of the construction of the $39 million Elizabeth A. Connelly Emergency and Trauma Center, which opened in June 2009 and more than tripled the size of the emergency room at the Ocean Breeze campus. His other achievements include the building of the Regina McGinn Education Center at the Ocean Breeze site, selling the former Doctors' Hospital in Concord to the city education department to build a public school on the site, and expanding services, medical subspecialties and the robotics program. Under Ferreri's leadership, SIUH received national recognition for quality care, garnering more awards during a six-year CMS demonstration project, than any other hospital in the United States.
