I am a lawyer with significant management, public relations, and government affairs experience. During my 30 year career in Washington, D.C., I have advocated on a variety of public policy issues while serving in government, corporate, and association environments. I have held senior positions in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. I have practices law and have worked for three major corporations and two national trade associations. Advocacy, public relations, strategic planning, financial management, and grassroots/coalition building are among my areas of expertise. I have developed a broad range of communication skills that enable me to effectively communicate and interact with a diverse group of individuals. Through speeches, presentations, newsletters, and electronic media, I’m effective in engaging members and growing membership. I was successful in raising millions of dollars from business executives and employees to fund two of the nation’s largest corporate PACs. I was appointed by the USDA Secretary to manage the USDA’s 2005 Combined Federal Campaign, raising more than $2 million in volunteer contributions in four months for charitable organizations, setting a USDA record.
