Jane Lucas is a Health Policy Counsel for Senator John Thune of South Dakota, who serves on the Finance Committee and in Senate leadership as Republican Conference Chairman. She has served on Senator Thune’s staff for seven years. In her current capacity, she advises the Senator on issues related to Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance. Jane is currently focused on advancing health care technology, including an expansion of the use of telehealth, promoting transparency as a way to address growing health care costs, addressing the need for payment modernization, and ensuring continued access to care in rural areas. Jane received her bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from South Dakota State University and her law degree from Georgetown University.
