Louis Brown was named director of Christ Medicus Foundation CURO, a new national Catholic health care ministry, in September 2014. Previously, he was a private practice attorney in Detroit; legislative counsel to U.S. Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Calif.; associate director, social concerns, at the Maryland Catholic Conference; staff member of a national party committee in Washington, D.C.; labor law and civil ligitation attorney at a Michigan firm; and assistant on the Michigan staff of U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich. Brown earned his undergraduate degree in political economy and international relations from James Madison College of Public Affairs at Michigan State University. He earned his law degree from Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. During law school, he was a law clerk/extern for the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
