Foresite Healthcare

Foresite is a privately held startup company that has licensed eldercare sensor technologies from the University of Missouri and is focused on commercialization of the technologies. The technologies include an in-home health monitoring system and electronic health record to support aging in place. These technologies were developed through research by the College of Engineering and School of Nursing at the University of Missouri under the direction of Dr. Marjorie Skubic. Therefore, the intellectual property licensed and commercialized by Foresite is related to Dr. Skubic's current institutional responsibilities.
The project aims to provide expert consultation to WU researchers wanting to augment their clinical research studies with sensor technology developed at MU at Tiger Place. The Collaborators will work with fellow researchers at WU regarding augmenting their various clinical studies with sensor technology.
It is the determination of the University of Missouri's Conflict of Interest Committee that Dr. Skubic's equity interest in Foresite Healthcare could directly affect the design, conduct and reporting of the research.

Project Narrative: The overall goal of this grant is to accelerate advances in human health by engaging multiple stakeholders in the translation of scientific discoveries to drive improvements in health among diverse populations. Our proposal will improve clinical research through high quality and efficient methods/processes, develop a trained workforce skilled in team science, and disseminate research findings into real-world implementation to improve health and health care for patients, communities, and our nation.
