Patient Pathways Through This ER

After a patient arrives at the emergency room, they are typically seen by a doctor and then either sent home or admitted to the hospital and taken to a room. A small percentage of patients leave without being seen at all. The chart below shows on average how long each of these pathways take. Lower numbers are better, and all times refer to the average length of time people waited. Find out more »

Detailed Quality Measures

Here is a more in depth look at each quality measure, compared to state and national averages for hospitals with very high volumes. Experts caution that very small differences between hospitals for a given measure are unlikely to correspond to noticeable differences in the real world.

Notes: "Average time" refers to the median waiting time (the midpoint of all patients' waiting times). References to "doctor" indicate a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant. CMS reports the CT scan quality measure as the percentage of patients who received a scan within 45 minutes. We have reversed that measure so that all measures follow a "lower is better" pattern.

We arrived at 11am our first encounter was with the receptionist when you first walked in and she was rude and rolled her eyes at me over 3x and she does not deserve to have a job dealing with sick people , I do not know her name but she was black with Braids and horrible attitude
Then we were put in a room and 4 hours later had CT scan then 2 more hours nobody still had looked at it and my boyfriend was in so much pain we left
    Horrible experience
    No compassion

I not only received top of the line care that physically helped me get better, but also received amazing emotional care by doctors, nurses, and others. I truly felt like that the hospital staff was there for me and actually cared about my health and well being. Even more amazing is I had just lost my job a month prior and my insurance had ended, which made me worry I was going to be turned away or in debt forever, but they worked out a payment plan with me to keep be above water. I would never want to get sick again, but if it every happens to me or a loved one, I would recommend Harborview. They are lucky to have such quality people as employees.
