Now that Anna Netrebko is canceled, I'll say it: it's a shame that she's the best the Met & other great opera houses could do these last 20yrs. If she were singing in the 1950s, 60s, or 70s - in the age of Callas, Caballe, & Tebaldi - it wouldn't have been on the Met's mainstage.
