@bambipotf I spend a lot of time on Southern Asia in general, figured it was somewhere non-western, and tbh xinjiang SE of Kyrgyzstan NE of the Hindu Kush *almost* fits perfectly except there's no eastern 'shore' on the other side, and the mountain line isn't an exact match Still love maps

@panelistmedia @RepAOC And fwiw, I would rather support starting at $22, with a plan to raise it annually in line with inflation, indefinitely, so we don't have to keep paying bills like this. But if even this watered-down centrist compromise gets stalled in the upper chamber, how is this on the Squad?

@about_dave @GavinNewsom You say "throwing nonsense propaganda", I say providing accurate analysis of the way we rely on political characters to further the goals we care about most. Election day is over, and #sb9 is still sitting on the governor's desk. Has been since Sept 3 https://t.co/JmZbveY4AE

@bambipotf I always prefer to say I "understand science", because science doesn't care if you believe or not. It's constantly changing as new data comes in. And the beauty is, if we lost every science book, we could write them all again with the content, because science is all around us.

@Atlantis_Scout @stelpavlou (Fwiw, Stel, Linear B is the one we've translated, which carried over into Mycenaean mainland culture. Turns out it's a syllabary that can be directly translated into an archaic from of Greek. It's the more compact hieroglyphs of Linear A that still baffle us)

@ChanceyFleet @nyplheiskell I would love to see this kind of work in San Francisco. Accessibility is everything. Physical modes and tangible representations convey so much. This is beyond cool.

@sanaeknits Love it. Weed whackers have their place for small, tidy gardening work, but goats are the GOAT.

@robertoblake @NelNieves @AazamiShervin @jack @HumanityForward Which one of those wealth wealthy people is the smart one? Nothing wrong wit talking, but this is more like corporate boosterism.

@HairVise And my most frequent excursions to the city were to concert to sing. I've seen the back side of Davy's Hall, behind those panel doors you see opening behind the orchestra, under the back seats. You wouldn't believe how deep it goes back there. Seemed as much underground as above.

@ptcl22 @RomulanSunsets I'm assuming RomulanSunsets is referencing income taxes, which only affected a small section of people during their first years but expanded rapidly as the rich insured everyone needed to have "skin in the game" and it "wasn't fair". Rich people problems.

@OakMorr The fact that I don't even know who you're talking about is extremely on brand for SF.

@mayavada @itslexeskobar People who are actually embraced as part of the neighborhood wouldn't be living in tents. It's time to be honest about the damage creating a half-way system of compassionate neglect has down to the area. That doesn't mean sweeping people up; it means bringing them inside.

@LJAkaar67 As I understand it, they'll been slow walking cases (3% clearance rate) and refusing to serve, because Boudin was willing to actually prosecute a few for the first time in history. The way I see it, we only want to pay the police who are willing to police.

@Leftist412 Who's entire politics is any one thing, really. Just means they've targeted a wedge issue to trojan-horse their real agenda in.
