We all spent considerable time away from our families, walking in frigid weather (frankly, freezing our pantaloons off!), knocking on doors, and winning the support of the community – only to have someone say my signatures were not valid? /4

I am officially ON THE BALLOT!!! Even though the petition challenge failed, it was so frustrating for my team and me. /3

Our dangerous GOP opponent, and why I’m the right candidate to defeat her.   So it was a nasty shock when someone in my own party tried to get me thrown off the ballot. I’m glad to say it didn’t work. My signatures were accepted and the challenge was thrown out. /2

When I decided to run for the open seat in IL-17, I knew that I would have to fight for it. But it was important to me that I keep intra-party fighting out of the race. I was, and I remain, determined to take the high road and focus on two things: A thread /1
