Cable news networks chased ratings in the run up to the 2016 election and earned huge profits by over-covering Trump and amplifying his hate, his vitriol, his conspiracy theories & outright lies. These networks mainstreamed Trump and are as culpable as FB for where we are today.

It's beyond rich to see corporate media, especially cable news hosts, attack Facebook for putting profits over the well-being of the country by designing its algorithms to circulate more widely whatever excites or angers us most, even if its misinformation or disinformation.

Cable news networks chased ratings in the run up to the 2016 election and earned huge profits by over-covering Trump and amplifying his hate, his vitriol, his conspiracy theories and outright lies. These networks are as culpable as Facebook for where we are today.
