Bill Summary
Directs the Secretary of Education to permit student loan borrowers under the Higher Education Act of 1965 to defer repayment during periods for which the borrower or a spouse is eligible for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. Requires the Secretary to publicize the availability of such deferment and of other deferments available to borrowers for whom repayment has caused or will cause economic hardship.
